Tech News: Google Plus Now Open for Teens (13 years and older)

Google+ (Google Plus) has officially abandoned its 18+ age requirement. Now the age requirements are as follow:

• Spain: 14 or older
• South Korea: 14 or older
• Netherlands: 16 or older
• All other countries (including the US): 13 or older

So if you're 13 or above and still haven't tried out Google+ yet, then this is your chance!

For me, the feature I'm using most often on Google+ is Hangout. Google+ Hangout allows group chat, screen-sharing, integration with Google docs, etc. It's great for collaboration works such as for a school project. Need a quick doodle to demonstrate something on Hangout? SketchUp is just a click away.


If you're frustrated with Facebook for whatever reason, then you might want to give it a try. It would take a while to become familiar with the interface (since it is different from what we're used to).

Personally, I find Facebook to be a better socializing place because outside of the tech world and photography world, not many people have switched to Google+ yet. However, Google+ offers much better collaboration tools for works.

It's another social networking site. Sort of like facebook, but it's owned by google. Haven't tried it out for myself yet.

I've had an account with Google Plus for a while, and I haven't been on it for a while. Sounds like they're desperate for more members, to me. At first, I bet there was a surge of new members...but once word got out that Google + isn't really as great as they thought it was, there hasn't been good network activity. I don't know though. I'm sticking with Facebook. Let the kids go on Google and let the adults go on Facebook. Works for me.

I dunno, I might use it if more of my friends go to it.

So far no one I know in real life has it and only three people online so it's not really a hurry.
