Angry - October 15th 2012, 01:49 AM

Generally speaking I'm not an angry person. Recently however, I have been lied to cheated and used by someone I care for deeply and I cant help but feel angry and resentful. I've seperated myself from him and we don't really talk anymore but as much as I try to busy myself my mind constantly returns to the situation and how hurt and mad I feel. I was just wondering what the bible says about anger and being spiteful or if anyone had advice on moving on?

well, irrational anger I can't quote scripture. But for anger directed at someone there is a psalm that says 'Hath not be angry for vengeance is with the lord' or along those lines. But, I could probably look it up for you and type up some later if you'd like.

Psalm 37 is a really good one to read in that situation! I've been dealing with this too. I can't exactly tell you how to get over it since I am still trying to myself, but definitely ask God for help and don't try to do it on your own strength. James 1 says that if we ask Him for wisdom and believe that He will give it to us, He will, for sure. So, ask for wisdom about how to forgive. I will be praying for you.

The Lord's prayer alone tells to "Forgive those who trespass against us."

Thereby, it is "good" to forgive those who wrong us, as holding on to such spite will only give you ulcers.

Load it, check it, quick, rewrite it"

I'm just going to say being angry about that sort of thing is perfectly natural. You were used, cheated, and lied to. It would be abnormal to not be angry for a good while. I was angry at a close friend of mine for a good two years because of what she did. Time healed my wound, just try not to let your anger take over.
