Smile New TH Bible Studies - October 15th 2012, 08:46 PM

Hi guys! I'm glad to be back to TeenHelp. I retired from TH for a while after some issues I was having. Anyways the reason why I am writing this is because I want to start some Bible studies here on TH. I am not sure if I want to hold them live on chat, on Skype, or just post them here on the forum. They will be basically like devotionals and have some questions for thought. I want your opinions on this. I know religion is not supposed to be discussed in the chatrooms but this will not be religion in general. It willl be Christian Bible studies and I want to make it clear that I am not doing debates and I will not allow debates. If you don't agree with something, then you don't have to agree with it. If you have a question about it, do let me know. I hate debates but I love my Lord and I only seek to do His will. So, let me know what you guys (and girls) think! For now, studies will be posted in forums. If you want to do a chatroom and/or Skype study, please let me know so I can arrange it!

Well I have a question....but then it might be more of a concern idk but anyways, as you probably already know....there are many different "versions" or translations of the Bible. I mean you have The King James version and The Message bible and others I cant think of off the top of my head. but anyways do you see my point here? It really saddens me that the bible has been messed with so much and verses themselves are so different and even whole chapters have been changed and since you also trying to avoid debates and conflict that is something I might suggest taking in consideration so that everyone that decided to participate is on the same page. Personally I study from the King James version just cuz I believe that its translated most correct but anyways just something to think about.

I study from the NIV bible, so maybe you can post in one version and then have different versions written as well. In my class we go around a circle and read from different versions, compare them and then talk about what it means to us.

Hey Patricia,

I'm not Christian and not interestested in these Bible studies, however, I'd like to help you organize these a bit! Having them in the forums, specifically these forums, might be hard because of people wanting to debate and having them in chat might be hard because of different time zones. SO, a few months ago another user trying to start a bible study created a Social Group for them here. You could maybe ask if he could give you rights to the group, since it's something he is no longer doing, or you can always start another one!

Good luck, if you have any questions or need help, let me know! I may not be Christian, but I encourage people getting together in faith!

Hi thanks for the concern. I do my studies from the NIV because it's easier to understand; however, I can do what the person below you suggested. I can compare and maybe type out the passages from both translations. Hope that helps.
