Ghostie ghostie who's got the ghostie?
lol. We have a ghost.. He doesn't bother me much, just likes to turn on our radio every time a certain song plays.. However the other day he did mess with the bells on the back door which spooked the crap out of me. I don't think you should be worried, just leave whatever it is alone and go on about your life. Yeah you could record it and try to coax it out of wherever but then you might just piss off an already pissed off ghostie. .:6:21 a.m.:. .:12-01-2007:. .:Logan Jacob:. I don't know... are you sure it's a ghost? There tends to be explanations for everything. I've heard my piano playing before at night when I was sure no one else was up and I still don't believe in ghosts even though that seems to be the quickest explanation. You can try using a recorder if you really want to. You could also just try sleeping with earplugs in.

This could be paranormal... or it could be the house settling. Old houses settle and they tend to creak and squeal a lot.
And when you know that the noises are coming, you are preparing yourself psychologically for the noises, whether or not they happen. If it is a ghost, it may not be a human spirit. It could also be a demon or a poltergeist. A poltergeist is a mischievous spirit that usually won't hurt you, just scare you. Never Give Up On Your Dreams No Matter How Hard Or Big They May Seem..... Someday you will reach them...

Best thing to do for a ghost is to say clearly "Please don't give me any trouble!" and usually they won't.
Personal experience: My uncle moved into a house which was rumoured to have a ghost living there, he stated clearly "leave me alone!" or something (under the guidance of my mum) and there were no problems. When he moved out he visited the old house and the new people, only for them to ask him if the place was haunted! apparently, they have had they're baby's toys being thrown across the room and doors slammed in the middle of the night ... Remember though, you should respect him/her/it ... oh and a point on poltergeists - they are drawn mainly to teenage girls who are in distress or who are having a shitty time! But Christy's right, they don't want to cause any harm ... in fact most ghosts don't ... they're just stuck! So much for that idea ...

If you think it's a ghost,
I've realized that if you take control, it won't do anything anymore. I'm sure it's not there to harm you, because if it was, it would have done it already. I think before you go to sleep everynight, tell it that it can't hurt you, and that you're not afraid. your biggest fears can only go away if you face them. I know it sounds silly, but just tell it to go away. And also, I agree with jamesbrookman, have a friend spend the night to see if they hear anything weird. because sometimes when you believe something, and this energy grows around you, and you become more and more paranoid that it's real, when matter of fact is that it could be something your mind is doing to trick yourself. Good Luck! If you have any questions, you can always PM Me. -Kaylaaa<3. Worrying about the sounds adds in a psychological element that it's simply your mind casting the perception of a ghost. The sounds may indeed be real but working yourself up to think something/one is there, such as a ghost, over and over will eventually make you believe just that regardless of how false it actually is. For this reason, I don't think a voice recorder is going to do any good because if it detects a sound, then you're back where you started anyways: trying to figure out the cause of the sound and the tape recorder cannot help in this problem.
So in order to figure out the cause, which may simply be the house settling, a branch hitting the window, critters running on the roof, etc..., you need to get the psychological element sorted out, otherwise you'll continue to believe it is ghosts even if you're wrong. Inviting friends over may be useful if they can help with calmness, otherwise they'll only add to the chaos and stress, and that is of no help to you. |

I checked your profile, and you're a Christian, if you've got the right information on there.
Tell the "ghost" to go away, and say it in Jesus' name. It has to leave. Jesus reigns over all that stuff. If you say it in Jesus' name, it'll leave. If it doesn't, KEEP saying it. Also, ask God to fill those spaces with His angels and His glory and His good things or else there will be empty spaces for bad things to come back to. Good luck

hey weird shit happens. my fiance is really sensitive to paranormal stuff i think. his mom is too. in his old house his room used to be in the attic and he would hear sounds like something scratching and clawing its way up the stairs and also alot of whispering and such. he heard that the guy that lived there before them was really weird and into some crazy stuff and at some point my fiance looked under the carpet in his room and there was a big pentogram burned into the floorboards. they moved out of that house and he hasnt had any issues like that in the new house.

my house is haunted and very much so too, the spirits in my house never harm me, they get on with walking arounnd my house and i get on with doing what i do. the spirits in my house are children i sense them and they feel like spirits of two small children, but they dont anyharm, its nice to know that the spirits of two children are in my house, i also have other spirits living in my house, agian they have never done me any harm. for a while the spirits of the two children were a little noisy i could hear them walking round my room and house and stuff, so what i did was this i asked them very nicely and calmy i said to them something like this : hello, i know you mean no harm but at night could you please move around the house abit quietly as its keeping me awake.
that night i went to bed and i could sense them around and stuff but they was no noise nothing, so i said 'thank you ' i heard the stairs creak and then there was nothing. i picked up on the noises alot, but i seem to more tuned in to spirits and stuff, i can also see them, i often see shadows around my house agian these have never done any harm. i trust them not to. as long as you are nice to them and dont anger them, in my experiences this is that being nice to spirits works in your favour, usually if you are nice to them they co operate with you and usually do what you ask. poiltergists - are drawn to anyone who for a period of time has been giving off negative energies - this does not mean you have a poiltergiest, but they are more drawn to people who give off negative energy fields. spirits are tuned into our auras politergists feed off negative enerfy its their food if that makes sense. usually once the person starts giving off a positive energy the politergists energy begins to go meaning that the poltiergiest is less active and has less energy to do things. but that aside, if you have a poiltergiest im sure you would full well know about it as they tend to threw things, break things, slam doors, turn taps on, and mess with electrical equipment. but from what you say it sounds as though the spirit that you think you have sounds to me like a friendly one, as by now if they ment to harm you they would have by now! ♫ a blood red bracelet thats all thats feeding me ♫the girl who always seemed unbreakble finally BROKE the girl who seemed strong CRUMBLED the girl who always laughed CRIED the girl who never stopped trying finally GAVE UP she let her fake smile fade and as she did a tear rolled down her cheek and she whispered ' i can't do this anymore' The moment Rob spammed in chat : 10:49 [Rob] Omgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gg it's Christmas! |

If energy is food, then why does it matter if it's positive or negative? For example, a rather crude one but it gets the job done, a homeless person is starving for food and he/she is given the option of a big steak or a big veggie lasagna. He/she probably wouldn't care that much because food is food, and energy is energy. |

It was merely a possible example and I have no interest in engaging in a debate regarding the specifics of the layout of your house. But I am interested in you answer the question I posed, and I just realized I screwed up the quote function so if my question got lost in my mess, it was: why do poltergeists prefer negative energy over positive energy because if they need energy, then energy is energy so why does it matter? |

its not the dead that hurt you, its the living, you could try saying the words ''SPIRIT BE GONE'' sometimes works to make a spirit leave you alone.

So you don't know why poltergeists feed off negative energy despite making that claim (i.e. no argument, evidence, etc... for it)? Do you have a reason(s) for why poltergeists feed off energy in general? If not, then it seems very pointless to claim they feed off a specific type of energy. I'm aware I probably won't get a logical argument so even a paranormal or other fantasy-like reason will suffice.

We have a ghostie too. If yours isn't doing anything to hurt you then show it that it doesnt scare you and get some decent sleep. Ours likes to scare us and make us feel weird, and turn our stereo up, and stand at the top of the stairs, but it hasnt hurt us yet so I don't mind too much x

That made me lol, literally. Why on Earth qould saying "spirit, be gone" make it go away?? It would jsut amuse them or irritate them. Have you ever watched "The Ghost and Mrs Mur" (that may not be the exact title) she does something like that at the beginning, and the ghostie laughs at her x
