I recently became an atheist, and I was wondering how many other atheists were around here. It seems like everyone has a Bible verse in their signature or something.

Sort of yes... I wasn't raised religious and I find some religions objectionable... to be an atheist to hold the belief that there are no deities. In that way, I am an atheist.

There are a bunch of atheists, Christians, Satanists (LaVeyan mostly), agnostics and others.
Myself, I'm an anti-theist, theological non-cognitivist atheist. I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

I class myself as a 'strong' atheist, whatever that means. I have pretty strong opinions but I'm also capable of keeping them to myself when necessary. I get the impression in some places in the US its a bigger deal to be atheist, whereas in the UK its pretty common. You're not alone! :P

I call myself atheistic, but in truth I probably fall under the category of apathetic agnosticism. However, I am not a nihilist, and despite my non-theism, I hold a high degree of respect and compassion for the life of a person or animal (although, if you want to dive into political correctness definitions, I define life as the moment of birth onwards).

Atheistic Nihilist here. Like some parts of LaVeyan Satanism here but I wouldn't consider myself a member of that group, more that it just influenced my personal philosophy.
