Why I'm Here - May 19th 2018, 11:11 AM

Hey so i am Maddyson But You can call me Maddy i guess.
I found this website from researching how to stop self harming my school counselor and my family have tried to help me with many things then i found this sight i heard and seen many things on how they have stopped self harming. The thing is it's now also coming up to summer and i have got numerous scars and i f ind it hard to wear anything short.Like the other day i went to school as Saul and i had physical education i forgot my jumper so i had to do it in bare arms but i still wore my leggings thank god but people just kept on asking me 'Oh what happened to arms' and all i would say 'It's a long story' but it was so hot and i don't eat that often and when i do i eat way to much so i dont eat breakfast or lunch or anything at break until dinner but i do binge eat quite a bit but anyway going off topic. So i was hot and whe i was getting changed in a changing cubicle when everyone else was getting changed in the changing room openly and i thought to my self what am i going to do?IO decided to not wear my jumper which was a big nmistake many people asked the same question 'What happened?' Or 'Oh are you okay?' all i would say is 'oh i'm fine' or it's a long story' but then since i get into trouble quite a bit i had to go to the isolation room and here ther teacher kept on staring at me and then it turned out she told the school counselour with a few other teachers i was embarrassed because i had already spoke to the school counselor before and told her i stopped and i know it was wrong to lie about that and i was so ashamed.
So later on that day i came across this site and i really liked it and decided to stay and make an account so yeah.

Welcome to TeenHelp, Maddy!

I'm glad that you found this site by looking for help with self-harm. Family and counsellors can be great support, but it can also help to get support from others who struggle with similar things. And it's also understandable that as it's coming up to the summer, you may struggle with trying to hide your self-harm scars or face people asking questions. And it might seem embarrasing that the teacher talked to the counsellor, but it sounds like they were only looking out for you. It's also understandable that you might not have been very truthful when you were talking to the counsellor as it can be hard to open up and tell the truth. But honesty (along with a good support network, like friends, family, counsellors and TeenHelp) will help with your recovery. Hope you get the support you are looking for here

I am glad you found the site. It sounds like you are dealing with a lot and I hope that we will be able to help support you through this. I think it's really brave of you to reach out and try and gain support. I know it might seem embarrassing that the teachers talked to your counselor but it sounds like they were concerned and were trying to help you. Maybe you could continue reaching out to the counselor or teachers about what you are experiencing.

If you are interested in building friendships it might be worth it to check out the chatroom. It can be a great way to try and meet new people.

Best regards.

Welcome to the site! It is great that your school counselor and your family have helped, and I do hope that you will be able to resume helping them in the future. But, like what was previously said, it can also be super helpful to have support from those who have been through it as well and I hope you're able to get that here!

Hey there! I talked to you in chat a bit. Hope you're doing well!

We break fast, cause we are glass.
Cause we are glass.
