Hi, I'm Shai - March 17th 2019, 05:23 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Hi I'm Shai. This is my first time ever putting something up on the internet about my personal life but here I go.
I am 13 and love stereotypical emo bands, my life revolves around music, and I think I have multiple mental problems.
Over the past couple months I have had my first panic attacks, my anxiety and stress levels have gone up, and I have begun mildly self harming when under stress.
My self harm is really nothing to worry about because all I do is dog my fingernails into the palm and backs of my hands. There is never blood drawn, but the marks usually last up to 3 days.
I have experienced sexual harassment(7 months of off and on molestation when I was 8), and my favorite grandma has had 5 strokes, a seizure and just today a death scare from sleep apnea.
I know my life isn't half as bad as a lot of other peoples , but I hope that others can empathize with what I've had to go through and help me get over everything. I also want to help others.

Hi Shai! I'm glad you've joined and I hope that you are able to get support for everything you have mentioned. We also definitely won't compare your life being "worse" or "not as bad" as anyone else's, what you're going through is just as valid!

I hope to see you around!

Hey Shai, welcome to TeenHelp!! :-)
I hope you're adjusting to the site well and enjoying your time here. We do not consider anyone's circumstance in comparison to someone else's in terms of better or worse. We do value everyone's need for support, a linstening ear, advice and kindness. Sometimes it is hard for people to see this for themselves because they're empathetic and caring and need to find an inner balance between empathy and that they matter.
I hope to see you around and that you seek that balance.
You can send me a private message or visitor message if you'd like someone to talk to.

"i don't care your intentions. I just want you to know my self-hatred never took me where I wanted to go. At the end of the day...I can pick at the pain but I can't cut it away."
