Not completely sure if I'll like this site or not but I decided to give it a try. Also not really sure what to write here lol. I've been cutting for a few years, and recently decided to try and stop because one of my close friends wants me to.. I've tried to stop a couple times before but never really succeeded. I'm currently experimenting with the butterfly project, which is so far working. I haven't cut in a week, which is a long time for me. I'm still doubtful as to whether it will continue to work though. Anyone else tried this?

I'm Hollie, a buddy here, so if you have any questions you want to ask about how TeenHelp works, give me a shout and I'll give you a hand. It's great that you're choosing to stop! It's a difficult thing to do but I hope that this place can support you through your recovery. We're a very supportive place, and I'm sure we'll be able to help a bit. The butterfly project is something that sounds interesting to me. I've heard of other people that have found it useful, but then again, everyone is different. Take a look at the SH alternative forum at some point if it doesn't continue to work, I'm sure you'll find some other distractions there. I hope to see you around soon! Welcome to the site, Sarah! I'm Barbara, a HelpLINK Mentor here. I answer requests sent anonymously through the HelpLINK system. I think the butterfly project is a great way to work with self-harm. I personally have not tried it myself, but I know many people who use that method. Congrats on the week of being self-harm free! That is quite the improvement.
