Dear Mum,
I've built up an emotional barricade between us two
Your nagging and your moaning
I disown it all
Emotionally I by pass it
I pretend that none of it effects me
You think I don't care
But you really couldn't be much further from the truth
I care too much to let you see
Every bit of mental damage you expose me to
If only you could see the look in my eyes
Once I escape your burning gaze
Maybe if you looked for a second
I mean really looked
Then you would see my pain, frustration and rage
Are we really related?
Sometimes I wonder
Was it all some hospital blunder
I'm someone else's daughter
Just under cover
One day my real mother will find me
It'll all be a lie
There's no way I'm yours
From day one, we just haven't clicked
I wish our lives were so much simpler than this
I wish you would be quicker to respond when I need your help
I've needed your guidence and support so many times
If only you'd have looked deep into my eyes
You may have seen how much I was struggling
And how valuable your support would have been
Mistakes have been made on my side too
I should automatically know that I can trust you
I really hope that time heals
And we can start our relationship anew
Because beyond it all you're my mum
And I do love you.

Beautiful, but sad poem. i love the rthyme of it and how everything flows. Your a really talented writer. Keep it up because it is an awsome way to let out emotion. I know for me its an escape and a way to survive life.. If you want to talk lemme know cuz I am in the same situation hope to see some more poetry from you!! <3
