Breaking The Wall - Poem - June 6th 2011, 08:01 PM

So I wrote this yesterday, it just kind of came to me so I wrote it down.
Its kind of long..heh
.

Breaking The Wall

I built a wall inside my mind,
A wall to block out everyone.

I'd been hurt too many times;
Lied to, deceived, trust being broken
Time and time again

I couldn't handle it anymore

I was tired of the pain
Tired of the drama, the emotions,
The horrible waves of depression
And self hatred.

So I built a wall inside my mind,

A wall to block out everyone.

But what I didn't know about that wall,

The wall I built so high, so perfect with no cracks or flaws
Was that it would leave me numb.
Feeling no emotions, no attachment
No connection.

I've lived behind that wall for so long,

Never trusting anyone
Always keeping things to myself and bottled up..

The wall inside my mind, grew bigger and taller

Enclosing me in the back of my mind,

leaving me isolated…totally alone

But now, I see you on the other side
Chipping away, slowly cracking the walls surface

I can feel when you touch me
I can feel emotions flooding through me
I can feel the love in your eyes.

Part of me doesn’t want the wall
To come crashing down

I built that wall inside my mind
To block out everyone

Yet here you are, breaking it down
Piece by piece
Letting in the sun
Letting in happiness, sadness, excitement

One day, this wall will fall
This wall will finally be destroyed

And I’ll finally be able to live again..
Thanks to you

It's actually very good. I'm impressed.
