Writing Competition! Teenhelp's December Poetry Contest!

Hello TH Nation. I would love to throw monthly, or even weekly poetry contests up for this site. As every one of you have superb talent, why not use it IN THE BATTLE OF DEATH!?!?!? Jk, but seriously =p

Just a bit of a friendly competition ran by me. I hope all of you are interested! 'cause I would love to read all of your amazing pieces =p

HOW TO ENTER

The way you enter the contest is, Private Message Autumnwind your piece you would like to enter for the contest. You CAN be anonymous if you want to be. So please state weather or not you want to be anonymous. Then, if you want, try and put weather or not you're participating in this thread. For 1, to bump it so others can see. For 2, to show others there are people joining to make them feel more comfortable.

Rules:

Only Poetry can be Submitted

Each Contestant May Submit 1 Piece of Writing

Winners will be decided by me

I would like if you made new pieces, but old pieces would do fine I'd just like something I've never read before =p

Ways you'll win:

Creativeness: 10/10 (Be creative, about the story you're trying to tell, how you tell it, and the way you write.)

Length: 10/10 (Don't be too long, or too short. Is what she said? Meaning if it's 2 lines, make sure it tells the whole story and packs a punch. IF it's 100 lines, make sure it tells the story and not too much more, and packs a punch!)

Detail / Descriptiveness: 10/10 (Using big words, small words, how you use your words, what pictures you paint, stuff like that.)

Use of Rhyming or Flow: 10/10 (Weather you like to Rhyme or not, just make sure it flows well together or sounds good. )

Interest: 10/10 (I don't lose interest easily, so I probably wont with how many talented writers there are on this site =p but make sure it grabs the reader. And if it makes me go "Wow" then that would be amazing! )

Topic: 10/10 (Make sure to stay on topic! I would hate to try and read back and forth just to stay on topic =p)

Reason why I'm doing this? For fun. I would love to read more and more poetry, and this would evoke all of you to write more poetry, more than you already do. It'l give you a chance to sharpen your skills on the pencil / pen, and just have a good 'ol community time

Rounds:

There will be three rounds to this competition.

Round 1

Competition Round: Each poet will submit their piece to Autumnwind, Autumnwind will then select a number of pieces (depending on how many people enter) to move on to the next round.

Round 2

Semi-Final Round: Autumnwind has now selected who moves on to the next round, for sake of demonstration, let's say 10 poems. 10 poems made the Semi-Finals. Now Autumnwind makes a new thread and puts the 10 poems in the first comment (Can be Anonymus I suck at spelling that word, as you can tell.) Autumnwind will also put up a poll of each poem. Letting YOU decide which poem should make it to the Final Round.

Round 3

Final Round: YOU have decided which poems move on to the final round. For sake of demonstration, let's say 5 poems. These 5 poems are in the Finals, we will pick 3 of them to be winners. We will have Teen Help Nation decide who are the 3 winners of the Final Round! And there will be 3 winners!

There will be no prizes in this first poetry contest, as I don't know how big it will get. But I would love to initiate prizes, and would love to get y'alls ideas of what prizes SHOULD be offered in this competition! Friendly prizes. No car or motorcycles :X

TOPIC

The topic for this months contest is....Random! Pick anything you want. Any little thing you want. I'd love to see your creativeness radiate off of this month! Usually I will pick a topic (or we'll vote for 1) and we will continue on with the competition!

Thank you everyone who participates, I really appreciate you taking the time to do so and having fun with everyone. For those looking along, don't be afraid to turn in poetry, it wont be taken for granted. I will personally message every one of you what I think of your poetry. And since all of you are very, very talented. I'm sure it'l be nothing but nice words.

Let's make this competition big And if this gets big enough, we might just have to do weekly competitions. Monthly sounds good for now though
