Is this Serious? - July 22nd 2012, 10:17 AM

Hey guys,
Okay, so for the past day (it may be 2 now) I've been feeling a little bit of pain in the "downstairs" area and it's been really bothering me. It's not constant, but when I sit down in a certain way or wear to tight of pants or just basically apply ANY pressure to that area it's like a sharp shooting pain until I move away. I thought it would go away within a little but it's still just as bad as it was yesterday, and it shows no improvement.
It's not in or right at my "special" area, that's fine (thankfully) but it's definitely above it. Could I possibly have a UTI or some other sort of infection? I've had a yeast infection before but it's definitely not like this. I can't really tell if I'm irritated down there either because 1) I can't bend that way and 2) From what I can see not much difference is going on.
This is the ONLY THING that is wrong, there is absolutely nothing else weird going on. Should I possibly see a doctor about this? It's really had me worried and all of my yoga pants are in the was so I'm stuck with jeans and it hurts too bad to wear them. Is this serious or am I just overreacting?
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a good day/night/millennium--what?
Bye!

I not a doctor and even if I was I'm sure I'd need to take a look to be sure. If you really want to look yourself I'd suggest a mirror at your level and kind either sit down and open legs or bend over and look through legs.. either way

But anyways the main point is if your in pain and your worried enough to write this post then yes you should see a Doctor asap. I not sure how bad it is. But for your own piece of mind you should get checked out.

Even if you're experiencing little pain down there, you should always consult a doctor since let's face it: we're not. If you want to check to see if you're irritated "down stairs", sit in front of a full length mirror and/or put a hand held mirror down there and take a look. When I had something going on "down stairs", that's what I did. I was red, and inflamed and made a trip to my doctor right away and it just turned out that I was having a minor reaction to the cloth that my panties were made from.

If it were a UTI, I could almost guarantee you'd be feeling pain while urinating. Do you feel that when using the bathroom? If not, it's most likely not a UTI, but a trip to the doctor might be in the works if the pain doesn't cease.

If you want to take a look for yourself to see if you can see anything, try to use a mirror to take a look at your vulva. A good idea would also be to talk to a parent and go to the doctor. Anytime there is some kind of pain that you're experiencing that is unexplained should be looked at by a medical professional. It's worth the visit. Even if you just went into a walk-in clinic. They will be able to tell you for sure what's going on.

Be well, and good luck!
