Burning lips after Oral Sex - February 28th 2015, 03:47 PM

Last night, I gave my boyfriend oral sex until he came.. But none of his cum got in my mouth (only pre-cum) since he let me pull away even before he came. This isnt the first time I did this to him and he also haven't had any sex with anyone before since we're both each other's first. So moving on, an hour after that happened, I started to feel an itch around both sides of my mouth and it also started feeling like its burning as well. I let it go, thinking it would disappear the next morning, but apparently its still itchy and still burns a bit. Also my lips kinda feels dry too, and this didnt even happen the first time I gave him oral sex.. Could this be a sign of an infection? I'd really appreciate any help

Thank you!

There's a possibility that it might be an infection; however, given that the symptoms became apparent only an hour after you performed oral I would say (with caution) that it is unlikely that is what is causing it. Depending on whether you had enough lubrication, and whether you have had contact with his precum before, it's possible you may have irritated your lips either through friction or through your body responding to what it considers a foreign substance. As it is causing you concern, however, I would recommend speaking to your doctor about it if it doesn't clear up soon.

As an aside, although you are each other's firsts I would still suggest using protection unless you've been tested and come back clean (and even then still consider it). It may sound a bit OTT, but bear in mind that certain STIs such as the herpes virus can be spread through kissing if open cold sores are involved so the fact you haven't had sex with other people doesn't rule anything out. In addition, it'll give you a bit more peace of mind.

I may be stretching here, but I wonder if your symptoms could be a reaction to soap or body wash? Normally, you would not allow soap on your lips nor into your mouth, but as you gave your boyfriend a blowjob, you would be exposed to whatever he used in the shower. It would be a tiny amount, but perhaps you are sensitive to it and felt a reaction.

Dave and Joey are correct.

Men are able to use body wash on their penis as there's nothing that gets internal there, unlike unable to be washing the vagina with soap as there's a risk of it going inside and causing discomfort/infections.

You should definitely talk to your boyfriend if this is really worrying you, but approach it calmly. Make him see the right things, because if you panic, he will come to the wrong assumptions.

It's probably just a generic cold sore, but it's best to warn your boyfriend about it, since it takes a while for them to develop. So you might have had some of the bacteria when you performed on him.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
