lump inside..? - April 30th 2015, 07:51 PM

hey so um i've been having a muscle aching feeling like you get on your period for a week after my period ending. i've been having periods for 8 years and this has never happened before so i got more and more worried as this has never happened before to me. this morning i decided to 'feel around inside' which i don't normally do because i wanted to see if there was anything to worry about. i felt a rather large lump that probably takes up about a third of my uterus! the lump itself doesn't hurt or itch and there has been no bleeding between periods. i have a doctors appointment tomorrow evening but i wondered if anyone could share any suggestions on what it may be? my google searches seem to lead towards fibroids. very worried

Sorry but I have no idea... I did read a book where this sort of stuff was mentioned, and I think it also said it may be fibroids... :/

Yeah seems like fibroids, but your doctor can tell you exactly what it is.

hey was a bit embarrassed at first because it turned out to be nothing (yay) but now i realise i should give information that i have never been told in sex ed or anything before and even my mum had never known this...

my doctor told me that what i could feel was my cervix and it's very common to be able to feel it. kinda feels like the end of a nose with a little hole or dimple in the end? that's the best way i can describe it. it is moveable and sometimes leans slightly towards one side. i've been taught about the female reproductive system, periods and sex since i was 10 years old and nobody has ever told me you can feel your cervix.

obviously it's okay to worry because you may have a strange lump that isn't your cervix but keep in mind that it probably is

actually yeah it still is embarrassing but new information haha
