A bit of a problem - November 19th 2017, 08:09 PM

I'm almost 15, and I have nothing but small waist curves, a small chest, and a flat butt...I
m not even sure if I have hips thanks to my wide shoulders. People say to wait but that's a hard thing to do, especially when people say that women have boobs and butts and hips and if you don't have those you have the body of a 12 year old boy. I really wish I had a woman's body. How can I make waiting easier? This is really messing with my already-low body image.

Unfortunately there's no real way to speed up body development. Like others have told you, it is a waiting game. To make waiting easier I suggest finding and appreciate the things about your body that you do like. Sure, you may not have the curves you want right now, but bodies are wondrous things, and yours does a lot. Write a list of positive affirmations, even seemingly obvious ones, like being grateful you have two eyes that can see clearly. Read them to yourself daily, and remind yourself that your body is doing good, important work at keeping you alive and healthy, even if it's not a "woman's body." Your body will grow and change at the pace its meant to and, if in a few years you still haven't noticed any development whatsoever, you may want to think about seeing an endocrinologist. You're still rather young, though, so I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

Best of luck!

There's no problem, and you definitely don't need to see a doctor. Some girls just develop later on. Also I'm sure you look better than you give yourself credit for, a lot of people are way too hard on themselves.

My best friend didn't go through puberty until she was nearly 17 years old. Like you, she felt she had no curves, she was a very thin girl as well.
It will get better. It wasn't until her 20's that she actually filled out.
There's nothing wrong with you at all! You are perfect in your own way. We are unique for a reason!
