Guys: Your thoughts on girls wearing makeup?

Do you generally prefer women that put on makeup everyday or not, or do you have a preference?

I've heard some people say that women who don't wear makeup regularly are not "taking care of themselves". I personally think that's crap, but I'm interested in hearing how makeup affects a guy's opinion of a woman.

Nahhh I don't like makeup on a girl. Maybe a little bit if they want or have to cover something up or something. I hate when you can notice it right away though aha, still if I like a girl and they want to wear makeup then go ahead, it wouldn't turn me away from liking them.

i don't find girls attractive without makeup on. i think they are not taking care of there appearance and they just look yukky!!
there are a rare few who can get away without wearing makeup, but even a bit of makeup helps. also, i'm all for the plastic look! sexy as hell!! my boyfriend says i look fine without makeup on but i don't believe him, the mirror never lies lol.

but i don't find it ridiculous at all.
i suppose it depends on different peoples lives.
if i went out to the shops without makeup on i would get dirty looks and sly comments.
my family always use to pick on me because i didn't wear makeup AND even guys use to call me a tramp because i wore no makeup.
i now wear makeup EVERY day, i don't care if i'm staying in my house or whatever, i can't have people, my boyfriend or other guys see me with no makeup on lol. i think it's interesting how we all think differently and stuff but i've met so many guys in my life who just hate girls who don't wear makeup, so i kind of find it strange now that guys are posting on here saying they hate girls wearing makeup etc, i don't find it weird, it's cool we all like different things, but to me it's something new, i've never ever met a guy in my entire life who has ever believed girls look good without makeup. interesting.

I don't think that girls wearing makeup makes them any more or less attractive... my ex always wears eyeliner, and she's beautiful... but that's just what I think, 'cos i'm biased =P if a girl wants to waer makeup, it shouldn't matter to the guy.

I don't really mind either way, I know girls(and celebs) that look attractive with make up and without it. I think it's up to the girl, if she feels comfortable not wearing make up then that's fine for her. I know I don't always wear make up because I can't always be bothered to put it all one.

Why because girls aren't wearing make up are they not taking care of their appearance? Make up clogs pores, causes spots and sometimes is really damaging to the skin so surely wearing make up isn't taking that much care of your appearance if it's clogging up your pores and everything.

no no,thats health wise. i didn't say 'girls that don't wear makeup are being un-healthy lol' i'm talking about appearance. sure makeup may be un-healthy but so is a lot of other things that we use in life. the reason i believe girls are not taking care of there appearance when they don't wear makeup is because you can see all there spots,they look pale,tired, bags under the eyes, there skin looks disgusting etc makeup brightens it up and shows the world they care about how they look and like to make an effort to look presentable.it's nice to go outside and see a good looking girl who wears makeup and genuinly cares about how shes looks. take celebrities for example, they look gorgeous and the one's guys seem to like the most (for example megan fox, cheryl cole etc) seem to wear a lot of make up, now when we see celebs like that with makeup off,they look disgusting. i use to suffer badly from acne when i was younger, then i started using makeup and it was a god send! it hid my spots and my face.i don't get spots anymore, well i get the rare one but not as bad.

But you have to remember that all these celebrities get their photos airbrushed and we don't actually see how they naturally look.

I can't say I've ever minded. Now and then it's nice but my girlfriend almost never wears make-up and I've been with her for 3 years and I rarely notice so it's obviously not important to me.

I'm 18 and only just got in to wearing make-up, and I've had three boyfriends without having to attract them using piles of make up (I was even with one guy for 3 years - I never wore make up when I was with him.) It's only recently when I've started wearing it, and now I cant go without wearing it. But it can't be true that no girl can get away with not wearing make up if I got away with it until I was 18 (and had boyfriends and romantic interests whilst I was make up-less)

Why is it so important to look perfect? Can't you be presentable ona regular day-today basis without wearing makeup? Why is it such a bad thing if a girl has some bags under her eyes? And why aren't guys held to the same standard?

Do you ever worry what a guy will think of you when he sees you without makeup? I just wondered, because I worry about that. Or at least if I wore makeup I would worry about that.

I like girls so i'm going to reply. In general, I prefer girls without make up. For special occasions it can be really nice if it's natural looking, but i like to be able to touch her face without worrying about smudging it.

ok to ME perfection is extremly important, i am obssesed with beauty,i love it. in my opinion it's not nice to see a girl with bags under her eyes or anything because it's just looks like shes ill.
guys are held to the same standard in my eyes, i don't like guys who don't look after there appearance either.it's who i am,call me shallow if you like but i'm not.i've been brought up to believe all this and i'm sticking to it, i love beauty and makeup but i don't believe in natural beauty at all and that ain't gonna change lol.
and yh ofcourse i worry about guys seeing me without makeup on! thats why i wear it lol my boyfriend has seen me without makeup on and he says its ok but i know him well and i know he prefers me with makeup on lol.

not all celebs. i've seen girls aloud live at concert and cheryl cole (who is like a huge idol to most girls and a major crush for quite a few guys) looked GORGEOUS! and she was wearing makeup! all of them looked great and even nicola (and shes quite pale) but like somebody else said,yh pale girls are attractive but not if it makes them look ill, hard to explain lol. but yh, i know celebs are airbrushed in pictures but when you see them in real life they look just as good.

As long as the girl's not wearing a ton of make-up, I think it looks good. Especially mascara and eye liner.

Also, for some reason when I look at girls, their hair makes a difference to me.

And it's not because of a lack of caring for myself. Make up doesn't mean you care about your appearance. Seems to me more of an insecurity if you feel the need to cover up everything.

I can see peoples points about it being more natural. But on the other hand, you can do your makeup so that it looks natural. I hate not wearing my makeup, and up until very recently I wouldn't leave the house without it. I've been wearing it every single day since I was about 12/13. I think if its done well, and makes someone feel more confident then there is no problem with it.

As a guy, I can pretty much sum my opinion into one word: moderation.

If a woman wants to expose her natural beauty, then I fully support that. But if a woman wants to wear make-up, I'm not gonna object. A lot of women look more beautiful with make-up, and I'm probably more attracted to women who wear make-up, but a woman is still a woman in my book -- regardless of how much make-up she puts on or doesn't put on.

But I think that every individual woman has a threshold when it comes to make-up. Some women look good with eyeliner and all that jazz, while some women just need face lotion or whatever you call it to give her skin more smoothness and shine. But if you go all out, spending amounts of times at the mirror poking your eyeball and looking around for something to put on your face, then I believe that we have a problem.

Also, I believe that make-up shouldn't be an every morning routine. More importantly, I think that wearing make-up requires a person who has high self-esteem. A woman who hates her appearance isn't going to feel much different when she gets compliments on how beautiful she looks with make-up, so I think that if you want to wear make-up, you have to accept what you look without it first. Wearing make-up isn't about impressing random strangers or people that you know with your looks. Not exactly, at least.

Little or none really, my GF puts on mascara and the eyelash stuff (lol I dont know names really), oh and if she were to get spot im sure shes got a little foundation? to cover it up... But yeah quite often I see her with no make up at all, and it doesnt bother me in the slightest, shes a natural beauty

im not inot girls, but i think a lot of the guys posting might only be considering girls with great complexions? im curious, would you find a girl who had pimples, needed some eyeliner to bring out her eyes and a very uneven complexion, without any rosyness to her cheeks....to be wearing makeup (in moderation and well applied) or not? and by prefer i mean which would you find more attractive.

So glad I have a girlfriend that doesn't use make up except for really special occasions or something, and even then she goes pretty light with it. cause all of the guys i know find girls look "hottest' when they are wearing makeup hah.

I mean i don't wear it around my boyf if he is just coming over to watch movies etc. Because obviously he finds me cute in whatever im wearing.

But if im going to a party or going out clubbing i put on makeup. I'm not insecure about how I look either, my skins generally fine and I get a lot of compliments etc. But depsite what a few of the guys on hear are saying - there is a reason for makeup - because guys do find girls more "hot" in it and girls feel sexier because of this.

Maybe not the small percetange of the population who use teenhelp or their friends. But try going out clubbing with no makeup, then try going out with, and pretty sure in most cases (unless you are absolutley stunning in which case you'll get attention no matter what :P) you'll get more attention with makeup on.

slash a lot of the guys on teenhelp i get the impression are 'nice guys' and i've found all the nice guys i know do agree that girls without makeup are just as beatiful if not more beautiful then girls with. BUT generally guys don't mind it and some even prefer it when you look done up. As long as it isn't caked on.
