stds?

Do pap smear results tell you if you have an STD? I'm not promiscuous or anything I was just wondering if you had to go somewhere to get a special test for stds or if when you go to the gyno, and they give you a pap smear, if that will tell you if you have an STD. I'm paranoid, I know. Do I actually have to ask the doctor for them to test for that? Do they have to do a blood test? Do i have to go somewhere special for a test? Does it cost a lot of money?

I actually think a urine test can tell you at the clinic.

i did a screening with a gyno exam. they just take a sample from your vagina, or at least thats what they did for me. im not sure if they can do it with a blood or urine test. i did it at my college clinic so it was like $15 but im not sure how much it is other places

At the gyno I went to, you actually had to ask them to test for stds. They would do a pap smear, but not automatically test for everything else, except for HPV I think. The only thing you need a blood test for would be an HIV test, but most places are switching to a mouth swab.

at my doctors office they do it every time you get a pap. i know because every time they call me to let me know all the tests came back negative lol. There are certain std's that need to be done through blood, But all the major and most common ones can be found through paps.

ok this is probably different as im in the UK, but when i went all the did was a blood test and a urine sample. i was all prepared for a swab sample down below but perhaps the other 2 tests are all they need.
