Morning after pll advice.

My friend had unprotected sex last night and needs a morning after pill. She's on the pill, but she missed it on tuesday and is worried about pregnancy. It's probably not a good idea to wait until Monday to get the pill, because obviouisly it's two days later.

Does anyone know of any places where you could obtain a morning after pill, in the UK (wales) on a weekend? I assume places wouldn't be open until monday morning. But for this sort of thing I would suspect they would.

Any advice? She's getting worried. :/

I'm in the US but a lot a drug stores here carry it, but it can get pricey. I know that with the morning after pill you CAN take it up to three days after unprotected sex, it's just better the quicker you take it.

Im pretty sure you could get one from your local GUM clinic. Or a chemist, they should be open on Saturday or early Sunday.

Do you think she would be okay though? She did take the pill on the day, just about 10-12 hours late, and then she had the sex 4-5 hours later?

Obviously I can't say for sure, but I think it doesn't sound TOO dangerous ~ as long as she gets the morning-after pill in the next day or so she'll probably be fine.

Depends what pill she's on ... the POP pill (like cerazette) has a 12 hour window anyway, so she'd be ok. I had this happen on the combined pill (2 hour window) and even then the woman in the clinic only gave it to me because I asked, she didn't think there was much risk.
But chemists etc sell the morning after pill, some give it out for free but they're hard to find ... it's about £20 to pay for it I think.

I thought it was the combined pill with a 12 hour window but the POP pill with a 3 hour one, besides cerazette which is the only one with a 12 hour window because I just had this conversation with my doctor the other day

Your friend is likely to not be pregnant if she doesn't take the morning after pill but if it would make her feel more reassured then there's no harm waiting until tomorrow, it should still work just may be not as well.

She went down to boots and they told her that she didn't need the morning after pill, just to take her next packet of pills without a break.

I was JUST going to say that people on the pill do NOT need the morning after pill. But the doctors explained that already. Problem is solved, so thread is now closed!
