Okay so whats the deal on these cups u put in you instead of tampons?
Does anybody use this? Do they work? Are they safe? Comfortable ect?
It sounds a little strange... but then again, so is sticking cotton up your hoohaa every month, so I was thinking of trying it...

hmmm; ive heard about them.
my health teacher told us about them O____o
apparently she used them before, and she liked them...
they're re-usable and they're practically like tampons.
you can sleep while having it in, swim, do everyday normal stuff..
but when you take it out.. instead of pulling out cotton..
you're going to have a cup.. of your blood.
so i think if you have no problem with that..
maybe you should try it out?
it sounds like an interesting concept :]
I've been using the Diva Cup for a little under a year and I love it! Once you get over the initial "ew factor" you'll find they're a lot like tampons only you don't have to deal with it as much (as little as 2 times a DAY for most women!). For me I like that I can actually forget I have my period for over half the day.
I have a really heavy flow though so some months I still prefer to use tampons but for the most part it's been really great to have and I think for women with moderate to light flows it's a great replacement for tampons and pads.
maybe it was just a sucky brand or something? I really don't like tampons... cuz it doesn't seem really hygenic to keep stale blood in you for long periods of time... this just seems so much more hygenic. What happens though when you lay down, does all the blood like tip out of the cup if you do a handstand or what lol?

It just moves, and once it moves ALL the blood comes out. I don't think It's a sucky brand since It's more expensive. If you don't like keeping blood, then you don't want these, lol.

nevermind, i found the keeper. it comes from the same people as the moon cup supposedly and the keeper is for people who aren't allergic to latex where the moon cup is for people who are.

Holly, if it was falling out, then it was either a bad brand or it was the wrong size for you.

What happens is you fold the cup up, insert it, and once it's inside, it pops open, so there shouldn't be gaps for the blood to come out of. It should be comfortable and if it's the right size, it isn't going to tip out, even if you lie down (not sure about the handstand though ).
They are very eco-friendly; one should, in theory, last for the rest of your life. But when you take it out, you are obviously going to be left with a cup of blood, so I wouldn't recommend using it while you're out or have to use a public bathroom because you have to wash it before reinserting it.
My friends used one for ages and she loves it. I've wanted to try one since she's mentioned it too but I guess its just...not at the top of my list of things to buy/try.
I think the major flaw would be the having to clean it (bad in public bathrooms) but you could always carry around a few emergency tampons as well. There are a lot of pros about them. Economic, one off payment, less icky then keeping stale blood touching your insides. Also, no waste so it doesn't matter if there isn't a waste bin in the toilet (One of my biggest pet peeves!)
