Birth control question -
January 3rd 2012, 02:36 AM
Hey,
Because of school break and New Years, I got my days extremely confused and thought today was Tuesday Well, I checked my pill package and it said that I hadn't taken my Monday pill. Well this morning around 10 AM, I took my Monday pill, which I should have taken tonight. Tonight, at 9:30, I took my Tuesday pill. It's the end of the active pills. Did I mess anything up? Will this affect my period? I'm on Gianvi, which is the generic version of Yaz. |

I did something very similar to this once. It made my period a day late than it normally would have been. I think you'll be fine. I was taking ortho novum which is just a generic.

Thanks Elizabeth. Is it normal to feel a bit sick because of this? I feel a bit nauseous and have a slight head ache.

I've taken two pills in one day once because I had missed my pill the day before. I have never experienced any kind of "sickness" from it, but then again, everyone will react differently to this. You should get your period as normal, if not a day or two early or late. If you continue to experience nausea after tonight, I would consult your doctor to make sure nothing is going on.

For the future, if you miss a pill (I don't know how yours works but mine doesn't matter if you took Monday's pill on Tuesday and vice-versa) it's not that big of a deal. If you took Tuesday's by accident on Monday, simply take Monday's on Tuesday at the normal time. During exams this past month, I kept forgetting to take my pill because I was stressed/busy/etc., but I was told that you shouldn't really ever take two pills in one day. If you miss a pill (my time is 8:00 a.m.) and you notice in the same day, you should take it - even though it's at a later time. But if you didn't notice until the next day, you should merely skip the pill and continue with the rest of them.
I've never heard of anyone getting sick, though - but I'm glad you're feeling better [: SUP BRO.
