Is it true that age of losing one's virginity corelate with one's ethnicity?

well like I know black girls who act like it's a big deal they waited until 18 or 19. Well particularly my cousin is like this. She lost hers at nearly 18. Her friends lost theirs at 16 and some even younger. She's african american. I read somewhere that they lose their virginity earlier is that true? If so what's the average age to lose one's virginity if they're indian and female? I'm half indian half AA. I was just curious because I was wondering if it's old at my age or not to be a virgin. I don't plan to lose it until I'm 22 or 23 or if I get married before then. I'm not dating though because I'm way behind socially. I haven't had a friend since I was about 5. So yea I'm waiting on anything like that for awhile. Just wondering if the two subjects co-relate?

You said you're half AA... If that means African American, then you choose to identify as Indian and not African American. You could just as easily choose the other way. All the mixed race people I know who are half AA , choose AA as their ethnicity. Even if you don't, you'd still be half "they"

I'm a mutt, but an African American mutt. My grandparents on both sides were mixed race...black and white.

I acknowledge I'm part black. As I said my cousin's black. I'm also indian descent. It seems indians accept me as indian and black people assume I'm 'middle eastern'. Indian and black people to me are pretty much the same just different features. Wasn't really the issue though for me... I was talking about the fact that I heard different ethnicities were more sexually active than others. Which is a compliment.

Okay, but I don't think the black girls I know would consider it a compliment to suggest they were more sexually active than other ethnicities.

Around here at least, ethnicity has nothing to do with it. If anything, the society itself has the biggest influence on what age they lose it at.

But I'm pretty sure the average age of losing virginity is 16 in the USA, and as most the population is white, I assume that the waiting till 18 your cousin mentionned, might imply a similar average amongst ethnic groups. And looking around on the internet, it doesn't seem like there is a great deal of variation within each gender based on ethnicity, although this is apparently some of the (mean) average. It does seem country has more to do with it, so maybe cultural values and beliefs?

I mean there are people in their mid-20s who are virgins, some by choice, some not. But yeah, it's not the average, more than half of people lose it before 20.... also, your cousin may act really proud that she 'waited so long', as she may think everyone had been doing it longer, she may have been under a lot of pressure, or maybe she doesn't in fact feel so great about it, so she wants to pretend she is proud.

Though you waiting doesn't make you old. Stick with what you are comfortable with, you never know what the future holds.

I actually wanted to lose it later than average. When I date I don't plan to active with them for at least half a year I'm really marriage oriented so yea....But the average age is 17 I read.

Around here, ethnicity had nothing to do with it. I'm a white woman, who lost hers at 16. I knew people, also white, who lost theirs earlier than I did and some who lost theirs later than that. Same goes for others in different ethnic groups.

I would think that it doesn't have a lot to do with ethnicity so much as the 9034390 other factors that might be involved like social/ economic status, upbringing from parents, socialization level, geographic location, attractiveness, self-esteem/ confidence, religion, etc. etc.

I would say there are too many other things to be considered to determine if race/ ethnicity can determine what age one loses their virginity.

I would say maybe in some cultures or areas, where people are alike, but I don't think so. I think it more has to do with the way you grew up and the culture you live in (most of us living in upper-middle class homes in developed nations) than it does your ethnicity.

I grew up actually extremely poor. I did read that too like broken families have those issues etc....
