Exclamation Nowhere open to get morning after pill - April 8th 2012, 10:33 AM

Hey there, I'll keep it short.

Last night, me and my boyfriend had sex. We didn't wear a condom (idiotic I know...I usually do), but I take cerazette (think it's the mini pill).
I missed one recently but can't remember what day. There is a chance I took it in the right time though. People have different opinions on how long you should use other protection for if you missed one: 2 or 7 days.
But anyway, it's Easter Sunday, and there isn't anywhere open to get the morning after pill. I just wanna take it as a precaution.

I guess...I just need some similar stories maybe? A bit of advice if possible. We realise it was stupid, and we are both usually sensible people.
OH! This may be too much information (apologies) but not all his...cum went in me. I know it doesn't really make a difference. I pulled away thinking I was in time, but there was a bit that got in there.

Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure with the mini-pill if you miss one you have to use protection for seven days. (I don't take it myself so maybe someone can clarify.)
You know you can get the morning-after pill for up to 72 though?? Obviously effectiveness decreases the further you wait, but surely there'll be somewhere open tomorrow for you to get it from??

Yeah tomorrow is looking likely. There is one pharmacy apparently open though, my boyfriend is currently going to see if it's open.
I think they say 7 days just to make sure, it's hard to tell because everywhere has a different opinion...

I had a similar experience once. My boyfriend and I mutually agreed to try having sex without protection (condom, I'm on the pill) and he didn't "pull out" in time. I went to get the morning after pill from my county's department of public health, but they were closed. Instead of getting it for free, my boyfriend paid $30 for it. Bogus, I know.

The morning after pill can be taken up to 72 hours (depending on the brand of pill, it can be taken longer, but always check) after unprotected sex. If nothing is open today, as it's Easter Sunday, go early on Monday morning, but surely, there has to be something open in the area for you.

Don't beat yourself up about it. We all mistakes. Just learn from this one.

Many stores are open on Easter sunday, start phoning different pharmacies. However other users have given sound advice, so I don't have much else to add rather than that.
