Crying Toddler - January 2nd 2019, 08:19 PM

So my 2 and half year old sister is crying over something. We're not sure what or why. She's hungry but is refusing to eat. She has normal temperature. Recently she got vaccines for Chicken Pox and something else and the doctor told us that bruises or knots were normal around the area. She does has a bruise but she says it doesn't hurt. All we got out of her was that she wants to see Dad, who's at work.

My step mom will talk to my dad but there's a lot of confusion

How is your sister now?

The toddler stage can be a bit difficult and it's even been nicknamed as 'the terrible twos'. This can sometimes mean that toddlers may become fussy and have tantrums as they are discovering things they want and how to get them and if this doesn't happen, they may have a tantrum.

It sounds like your sister may have been really missing your dad that day. Has this happened before? Or was there anything that might've triggered this? Sometimes toddlers may get a bit clingy with parents so it's good to make sure that toddlers get quality time with parents and other family members and that they understand when parents are busy but they can spend time with them later.

If she has a normal temperature and no other signs of illness or side effect to the vaccines, try not to worry too much. While refusing to eat may be a sign of illness, if no other symptoms appear, it may be to do with not wanting the food on offer and wanting other food. Or it may be to do with the anxiety from being away from your dad.

Hope your step mom and dad can figure this out!

She's fine now. I think it was just hunger. We finally got her to eat lunch.
She hasn't been clingy before. Which is strang. She never liked being held, or cuddled. Unless she is ill.

I think she's okay now

Glad to hear your sister is fine now and that it might've just been hunger. Since the problem has been resolved, I'll go ahead and close the thread. You can PM me if you want it re-opened
