Question Depo? I REALLY NEED HELP - March 19th 2010, 05:34 AM

Well, I got the depo shot a month ago and you're supposed to use protection especially the first week, so it can become effective. Me and my boyfriend didn't listen to that, we haven't been using condoms since I got the shot and he hasn't been pulling out or anything for about a month. I took a at home pregnancy test about a week ago and it came out negative. I've been doing research on it and a lot of women have gotten pregnant on the shot and haven't been able to tell with a home test. My stomach has been hurting ALOT and it's around my belly button area. I c o n s t a n t l y feel like I'm going to throw up and have a few times. My stomach has also gotten kind of hard around my belly button area. And it sounds so cliche but the only foods that don't make me want to barf are pickles and coffee ice cream. I need some advice/help on what I should do or if anyone has gotten pregnant on the shot or knows someone who has. I haven't really had any bleeding like most women complain about while on depo, just got some spotting, once and nothing else. My stomach only stops hurting when me or my boyfriend rubs it. I don't know what to do.

Then she closed her eyes
And found relief in a knife
The blood flows as she cries
Between The Trees-The Way She Feels

As she sits in the corner
face to the floor
she dispels smoke from from her lips
and slowly floats away with it
lettinggo of so much pain
her tears are thick enough to stain
the pavement that slowly becomes
her best friend when she needs to run away

The only way you can be certain if you are pregnant or not is if you go to the doctor and have them do a test.
Good luck

I've heard of the shot giving people every crazy side effect you can think of... I've had nausea and spotting (basically no real period since I first got it), plus many many many others. Basically you can't really go off symptoms to tell whether you're pregnant. But since you didn't wait the full week for it to take effect (my doctor even told me to wait a month) there is a chance you could be pregnant. That's another downside of the shot, no regular periods to tell whether or not you're pregnant... so the only advice to give, like myss said, is to either try another home test because three weeks may have been too early or to go to the doctor and get a blood test.

yea it could just be side effects of the shot so i wouldnt panic but its best to go to the doctor and have them do a blood test to see if you are pregnant. the hardness and such could maybe just be bloating or gas also.
