Question For C-Section Mommies - September 1st 2010, 01:10 AM

1) How long were you tender for (the sight of the incision)
2) What kind of c-section did you get?
3) How long were you advised to wait on having kids again?

The reason I ask is its been 4 months, I got a lower horizontal c-section (4.5 inches below my belly button) and I still get tender around the incision. I was told that I needed to wait for two years before I should consider having kids again so my uterus would be fully healed. Should I still be tender?

Re: Question For C-Section Mommies - September 1st 2010, 02:45 AM

I didnt have a C-section, but my mom did for two of my three brothers. She was on bedrest after the first Csection for a few weeks, then back to her nursing job and such. then had the second c-section child 2 years later. She had a lower horizontle aswell, and i dont really remember her complaining all that much of it. Thats just what i remember, if that helps at all. haha. Good luck with that though.

Feel free to PM or VM me, at any time. I'm always happy to help. (:

i haven't had a c-section, but i've had 3 open abdominal surgeries (all cut horizontally)...i was sore for a while after them. it's been nearly 4 years since my last one and i still have some tenderness on the scar site at times, but that may just be me.

I had a c-section with my now 3 year old daughter. I don't experience any pain and there was no specified time frame on when I could have children again (Although I haven't had anymore). But I was tender for about 1 1/2-2 months and then it mostly went away!! My incision is right below the bikini line about 3 1/2- 4 inches long!! I was managing a retail store which required me to stand all day and I was fine to go back to work when my daughter was 2 1/2 months!!

1) How long were you tender for (the sight of the incision)
It's been 5 months since i had my baby and i'm still kinda tender there, Sometimes it feels hard as a rock, which is odd.

2) What kind of c-section did you get?
Not really sure what you'd call it. I know its horizontal [And under the excess baby fat i have. lol]

3) How long were you advised to wait on having kids again?
I'm not really sure. Like i said, my birth baby is almost 5 months and I'm already thinking about having more. lol

I suggest going to a doctor and asking him or her about this. They would know a lot more than others would.. I don't think my doctor ever really gave me a specific time frame as to when to start having babies again, if i wanted any.
