When did you turn your little one into forward facing position?
My little guy is between carseats at the moment, his one he's maxing the length but for his new one he's a 2 inches too short and 2lbs too light, the only one I could find that acommidated his weight was $300 and only went up to 35lbs where as this one goes to 50lbs. He's 7 months but he's a really long little boy. So when did you upgrade your little one when it came to car seats? ![]() "When it comes down to it I let them think what they want, if they care enough to bother with what I do then I'm already better than them." My little man is almost 15 months old and still rear-facing and will be until he's 40 lbs., as his car seat allows. Rear facing is the safest position for them to be in for as long as possible, though not everyone prefers to do extended rear facing. It's legal, however, to turn them around at 1 year and 20 lbs.
But I did stop using Kaden's infant car seat when he was about 5 months old... He just got way too heavy for me to carry him around in it. So we bought a bigger carseat that just stays in the car instead of the carrier. It can be used for infants 5 lbs. to toddlers 65 lbs. Edit- The carseat does not have to be an infant seat in order for it to be rear-facing. This is the carseat that we have for Kaden and it rear-faces up to 40 lbs. We have this carseat for Kaden. I want to keep him rear facing as long as I can, with his old carseat he was starting to kick the crap out of my backseat, this one reclines and little but with the old one his legs were already bent and his feet were against the seat.

Here the law is 1 year AND 20lbs, I was just curious if anyone has kept their children rear facing longer.

Kain was almost 2 when I turned him around. And he was about 30 lbs. Look into some convertable rear facing carseats. I had to get Kain a convertable RF seat at around 5 months because he hit 25 lbs at 6 months old and the weight limit on the infant seat was 22 lbs. I originally just bought a cosco scenera it was a walmart cheapie. But then later bought a Sunshine Kids Raidian 80

We have this seat
http://www.target.com/First-Years-Tr...n&frombrowse=0 We love it. The top part comes off to support rear facing infants and babies your son's age.. then when your child is ready to forward face you put the top part on and ta dah more room to grow. Logan is 3 and is a very tall boy (I'm 5'9 dad is 6'6) he still has tons of room in this seat. And it's extremely easy to install and clean. You also don't have to re-thread the buckles every time your child grows which is lovely. .:6:21 a.m.:. .:12-01-2007:. .:Logan Jacob:. My Everything I support Project Linus!
