Question about symptoms - August 6th 2011, 05:46 PM

I know peeing a lot could be a symptom of pregnancy. But how common is that symptom? Do majority of females pee a lot in the first few weeks to trimester?
What other things could peeing a lot mean?

These last threeish weeks I have been peeing more than I ever normally do and I know its not due to increased fluid intake. So Im just asking how common of a symptom it is, to see if it could be something else.

Hey Ashley,

As stated on this website, which you can check for references (http://www.babycenter.com/0_frequent...egnancy_237.bc) frequent urination is one of the most common early pregnancy symptoms.

This next website shows you some of the other causes of frequent urination: http://www.bettermedicine.com/articl...uent-urination. Check them out and see if any of them apply to you.

If you're experiencing frequent urination, and you are pregnant, it's likely you'd be experiencing some of the other pregnancy symptoms such as:
  1. Sore breast/Nipples
  2. Larger breasts
  3. Frequent urination
  4. Missed period
  5. Increase in appetite
  6. Fatigue (being tired)
If you're worried that you could be pregnant, take a pregnancy test to be sure since you can't rely simply on internet articles to tell you whether or not you're pregnant.

Hope this helped, and good luck!

Adding to what Shannon said, you could also have a UTI/bladder infection. Also, even if you are not drinking more, but if you have changed what you drink, that could cause it too.

Such as, if you drink a lot of water, you will not have to urinate as much as if you drink more coffee, soda, etc. Water can be absorbed by the body, whereas most everything else cannot so your body has to get rid of it.

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

Haha, that's why I added the second website to my post, so she can see what other causes there are!

Re: Question about symptoms - August 7th 2011, 02:59 PM

I am prone to UTI's but this doesn't feel any thing like a UTI, any time I have had one of those, it burns and it hurts to pee. That hasn't happened at all. And well it could be the bladder infection as to I don't know what those feel like.
As far as what I am drinking. Im not drinking more so soda than usual. I am drinking if anything less soda and more water and tea. But Ive always done that.

How likely do you guys think it could be pregnancy, since peeing is one of the most common symptoms. Not to mention, my appitete has been a little increased.

Re: Question about symptoms - August 7th 2011, 09:38 PM

It could be likely, but I don't know what circumstances it's under. When was the last time you had sex, protected or otherwise? If it was within the last two weeks (14 days), it's highly unlikely you'd be experiencing any sort of symptoms this early. However, if it's been more than 14 days, like within this month or within the last month or so, it would be very likely.

Get your hands on a pregnancy test. Take it first thing in the morning, when the HCG hormone, or the pregnancy hormone, is it's most potent. It will give you an accurate reading. Make sure you read the directions to make sure you're doing it correctly, and then go from there.

Then, I would say there is a fairly good chance. You won't know until you take a pregnancy test, however. So I would take that sooner rather than later.

If you think your symptoms may be related to pregnancy take a test. That is the only way to know.
