Help me. - August 7th 2011, 02:13 PM

This thread has been labeled as non-PG13 by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for younger users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

This is what happened.

Last night, I had sex with my ex-boyfriend. He and I had a bit too much to drink and we both got a little horny. Well, I was already horny to begin with. The alcohol and the cigarettes didn't have much effect on me...except for the fact it made the craving worse. Then, we were talking and he was all like "I don't want to play games anymore. I wanna go to the bedroom."

Then we both ended up with our clothes off...yada yada yada.

In the beginning, we didn't use a condom. Then he was like "Let me go put a condom on." So, he did and then because he filled it, he took it off and we had sex without the condom.

I'm kinda nervous.

He is getting married to another woman and I feel like I've made the biggest mistake of my life.

If this happened only last night, it's not too late to take emergency contraception.

As the others have said, it's not too late to take Emergency contraception. You can take it within 72 hours after having unprotected sex. Also, I would look into getting on some form of birth control to make sure this doesn't happen again.

I've tried taking birth control before, but it made me very sick. It made me have pregnancy symptoms.

Plan B is not birth control. It purely stops a pregnancy before it happens. The later you take it, the more prone you are to having a real pregnancy.

Emergency contraception is used as a last resort after unprotected sex or an accident has taken place to prevent pregnancy. It contains a lot more hormones than is contained in the contraceptive pill but it is effective in preventing pregnancy the sooner you take it.

There are many different forms of contraception available, hormonal and non-hormonal. Non-hormonal methods like the copper IUD won't make you sick like hormones do. You should discuss this with your healthcare provider. It would save you the trouble of going through a pregnancy scare like this again.

Yeah. I was talking about the earlier comment about the birth control

"

Anyways, I have taken the Plan B before. So, I know what it is.

As the others said, I would take Plan B. It may make you sick, but so does morning sickness for a much longer time, and then there's a child involved. I would recommend you take the morning after pill.

Re: Help me. - August 8th 2011, 04:25 PM

Yepp, morning after pill is definitely advised.

You say you've taken it before. Well, surely that occasion(s) and this one should probably be a bit of a wake up call. If you're going to be having casual, unprotected sex, it would definitely be wise to get on a permanent form of birth control. There are non-hormonal methods available, such as the diaphragm/cap, or the copper coil.

Stay safe!
