Hey there,

Since you only had sex last night there's still time for you to get emergency contraception. Just try and get to a Planned Parenthood or a pharmacy today or tomorrow and it should be okay since you can take emergency contraception up to 72 hours after you last had sex.

Also, if you're having sex now it might be time to think about going on birth control so if anything like this happens again then you already have a back up. There are lots of different types so just do a little bit of research and see if you can find on that suits you.

Take care and I hope it all goes well

I didn't realise they had laws like that in the US. In the UK you can get emergency contraception at any age on your own. Are you sure planned parenthood doesn't give it out to 15 year olds? I'm sure I heard of some people going there before that were under 16.

If you can't get emergency contraception then I guess all you can do is wait it out and see if your period comes and if it doesn't then take a pregnancy test. Although, I strongly suggest just going for the emergency contraception even if that means taking a parent since if you are pregnant then it's likely you'll have to tell your parents anyway.

I don't know what the laws regarding emergency contraceptives are like in your state, but it should be available to you as far as I can tell. Plan B is available without a prescription for those who are seventeen and older. Since you're only fifteen, you may need to go to your doctor or to a clinic to get a prescription. You may also consider using Paragard as emergency contraception. According to Planned Parenthood, it's 99.9 percent effective when inserted within 120 hours (or five days) of unprotected intercourse. People aren't always aware of this option, but it is available to you.

Take care,

Sylvie

Since you're under 17, you can't get the emergency contraception without a prescription for a doctor, and it's only effective 72 hours after you've had unprotected sex, or had an accident.

Since the Plan B isn't available to you, I would wait two weeks to take a pregnancy test. You don't have to be a certain age to buy one, and you can get them at any pharmacy, they're usually near the condoms. Once you've taken the test and determine whether or not you are pregnant, you can go from there. You can visit any free clinic or Planned Parenthood without your parents consent to get looked over, and to help determine what your options are.

You could ask a friend who's 17 to get Plan B for you.

I've found the one who completes me.

Honestly? Ask your mother/aunt/older sister/older friend/Bf's sister/bf's mom/etc to go to Walmart pharmacy and get you Plan B tomorrow. That conversation will be a lot less awkward than the "Hey we are 15 and pregnant" conversation.

Angel- Most drs in the US won't insert an IUD in a 15 year old girl who has never had a child before. The cervix is too tightly closed at that point and would cause a lot of pain during insertion, so because of that it is rare to find a dr in the US that will insert it in such a young girl without having had a child before.

Hey Amber. It's nice to see you around the forums still. c:

I hadn't considered her age, honestly. The people who had inserted my IUD at Planned Parenthood seemed very open to performing insertions in nulliparous women, such as myself. I suppose your luck will vary on this one, sorry for not having mentioned this before.

Yeah I am pretty busy lately so I am not on as much as I used to be, but I am still here!

You probably would have the best luck at planned parenthood getting an IUD, I have only talked to OBGYNs in private practice about it so that might be why I had never heard of one not having those stipulations outside of the US.
