Should I be worried? - September 23rd 2011, 08:42 PM

I feel pretty silly asking this, but I'm going to go ahead.
I had protected sex about a month ago (we used a condom). And I had a period a couple weeks after that I believe, but the problem is I don't really remember much about it. I forgot to mark it on my period tracker app that I have and I really am spacing out about details, but I do kind of recall it being rather short and a bit lighter than usual.
And I've had a couple symptoms of pregnancy:
-I've had a really uneasy stomach off and on for a while now
-Sore breasts, cramps, emotional (but these could all just be for an upcoming period, but that would mean my schedule got pretty off)
-Weird appetite (hungry at weird times, craving random things throughout the day)
-Much more frequent headaches than normal

I'm really not stressing out too much because I did have what seemed like a period at least when it was due before and we've always used protection (it could have broke I suppose, but we didn't notice that it did), but I wanted some opinions on whether or not I have enough signs of pregnancy to worry about taking a pregnancy test.
I would just go and take one, but it's a little more difficult since I just moved to college almost a month ago so I would have to walk quite a ways to a store to buy one...
So if you guys think it sounds not very likely at all, I will just wait it out to see if I get another period in a week or two.
But at the same time, if you guys think it's a possibility, then I would really like to take a test soon because the father and I are not together anymore and I want to know as soon as possible whether I have to tell him or not.
(I do already know I would be getting an abortion if I was pregnant, but that doesn't make it easier considering I would want to be with the father before and after and he lives 4 hours away...)

Thanks very much.

It doesn't seem likely that you'd be pregnant, you're probably just psyching yourself out.

Hey there. Welcome to TH. Pregnancy is always possible whenever you have sex but since you used a condom, chances are slim. Don't worry about being pregnant, as stress can make your period delayed and give you symptoms such as nausea and headaches. If your period still doesn't come when it's supposed to and you're still worried, take a test and go from there. Good luck.

Thanks. I figured I probably just had myself looking too much into it, but I didn't actually think about the possibility until I had already been feeling sick and having headaches for a while.
But it's reassuring to have other people agree that it probably isn't anything. I think my period should be due in a week or a little more, so I'll just not worry about it until then.
