What were your parents going to name you? -

Since most people seem to have names picked out before their child is born, what were alternative names your parents had for you?
My parents didn't have a girl's name yet, but they'd decided on Christopher for a boy until our neighbours called their kid that first. (He was only a couple of months older, sucks) As for girls names, they had nothing. And as far as I know, my mum had no choice in my name because she was unconscious.

Kendra or Kenna (my Dad's name is Ken
 ). My mom also said Ashlynn. And Dylan for a boy. At least that's what I remember.  I like my name, Brittany better than all of those other names.

My dad wanted me to be called Charlotte Nadine

My mom had a different girls named picked out, but my grandma didn't like it so I was named Shannon Ashley. If I was a boy, my mom was going to name me Dallas Everett, after her two favorite uncles on her dad's side of the family.

As far as I know their were no alternatives to my name, just a name was suggested, both liked it and it stuck.

Siobhan (pronounced "Sha-vorn"), Gina, Georgina, or Rosie.
But my Dad didn't like any of those. They both liked Claire but that was too popular, so they somehow came up with Jasmine Claire.

My mum always wanted to name her first girl Elizabeth, but somehow I got stuck with Hollie. And because she's difficult, she spelt it with an 'IE' at the end and not a 'Y', so everyone spells it wrong.
 Though to be fair, her name 'Jennie' is spelt with an IE too, so people spell hers wrong a lot aswell.

Rowan was on the girl's list for me, but they chose Hester.
I would have been Angus if I'd been a boy.

My parents didn't pick names out before they even had a kid. Originally the doctors thought I was going to be a boy (misread the ultrasound) and I was going to be named Kevin.

If I was a boy my mother would have named me Jonathan no questions asked.
But when they found out I was a girl she had three names picked out and they were Blue, Alexandra, and Sadie. I am actually happy with the one they picked.  |

I was always going to be named after my two grandmothers, so thats who I am named after. Although my dad always really liked the name, Nicola, for a girl. But they didnt call my sister that either.

My mom wanted to name me Morning Dove because I'm part Native American (mostly white, though xD), Cheyenne, or Dakota, but thankfully they picked Desiree!
If I was a boy they wanted to name me Cory, and my middle name would have been Robert after my dad and grandfather. If I were a boy my name would be Julian, because technically my name is Julianna but I go by Cheye because my middle name is Cheyenne which is what they also considered for my first name but they decided on Julianna.

I was originally supposed to be Victoria Noelle (even though I personally don't like how its spelled so I say Viktoriah Noel) but they named me Kacie Elizabeth Moira instead
 and my sister would have been Christiana Madelyn but nooooo they had to give us both K names

Mom always told me that I was going to be an Emily, no ifs, ands or buts about it.

My parents thought I was going to be a buy so they had already my name ready for Francisco but I was a girl so they had to pick a name out of the nowhere so they picked Andrea.

If I were a boy I probably would've been named Paul after my mom's uncle and my dad liked Amy, but they ended up naming me Kathryn (the most common name that year spelled differently, but they said they did it because they liked it not because it was popular) with Mary as a middle name because my dad and I both have aunts named Mary.

They thought my oldest brother was going to be a girl and if so, he would be Nicole. My other older brother would be Eric, so I guess I would be Marc.

My mom got my name in a dream. Daisy Catherine Shekinah. She just stuck with it. But I was suppost to be called by my sister's name Jireh Andrea Nissi. I'm happy with My Daisy Catherine Shekinah. I don't know about the boy name part. My mom said she aways knew I was a gir.

My mom said that in high school, she wanted to name her first daughter "Summer Lee Ann".
Thank God she changed her mind! If I were born a boy (which they thought I was going to be), they would have named me Wesley, which is my dad's middle name. |

Apparently they were going to name me Beau if I'd been a boy. And my dad was pissed about it because he thought it was after a Days of our Lives character that my mom liked

My parents never mentioned having any other girl names picked out. I believe they came up with my name after I was born.
But I did ask them what boy names they had in mind. They mentioned Anthony or Nicholas.

My mom never picked out any girls name because she didnt want any. She wanted three boys Joshua, Peter and Andrew. She had me so she just got my name from the Bible.

If I was a boy I would have been Matthew after my dad. If my mom had used her last name I would have been Mamie Elizabeth! Thank goodness they decided on my dad's last name and went with Megan Elizabeth instead!
