Not having kids -
December 2nd 2011, 04:23 PM
Like i just posted in anouther thread, i will never want kids becouse i can never commit to much at all. The daily routines of having to raise them and stuff like that is not for me. Does this seem strange?

It is not strange at all. A lot of guys feel that way. Some change their minds later on and some don't. It's perfectly fine that you don't want kids that's your personal choice. But I think that you have said it enough times that everyone here knows your opinion. Being a mother I am getting a little tired of you telling people don't have kids you won't have a problem. Nobody has asked for your opinion on their choice of having kids. Just thought I would let you know that your opinion is becoming a little offensive to a lot of people in this forum when you repeat it over and over and it was uncalled for. You seem like a nice enough person but you can't push your opinion on other people by telling them to not have kids especially when some people already have kids so the advice is kind of a moot point.

Let's not attack the OP. However, you did ask a similar question in another thread that has since been closed. I'm a little confused myself on why you decided to begin a new thread, but maybe that's just me.
There is nothing wrong with not wanting to have kids. That is your personal choice, and we all have personal choices. I want kids, you don't. We all have our opinions on certain things, and you have yours on this while I don't. Certain people will think it offensive when you tell them 'not to have kids'. Yes, that's your opinion, but it's not the same for everyone. Telling them 'not to have kids' isn't helping them in any way, and I know you said you liked to help people. Expressing your opinion isn't a problem, but when you force it upon other people is when people see a problem with it. So, if someone has a question about children, whether it be their own or whatever, try to refrain from saying such things since it could really hurt them. |

Thank you for apologizing Blue. Sometimes what we say doesn't sound like we're attacking someone until we've already said it. We're all entitled to our opinions, and you've expressed yours. We all just need to be more considerate of each others feelings.

Well don't have kids if you don't want them. I think that is a perfectly valid choice and yes you're entitled to your opinion but like the other girls said it really isn't helpful to say well just don't have kids when people are asking for advice. It's not like I just woke up one day and said I think I'm gonna get pregnant today and they're already here so saying stuff like that isn't helpful at all.

Honestly, it is a very adult choice to make. It looks like you know what you want out of life and that's good. Not everybody wants kids or thinks they can handles the commitment to a child, or think they have time for one. It's good that you thought this out now than waiting and finding out someone has became pregnant and you didn't want to commit your time to a child.
You can't live a positive life with a negative mind and if you have a positive outcome you have a positive income and just to have more positivity and just to kind of laugh it off. ~ Miley Cyrus ![]() ![]() |
