Talking Three months to gooo! Well, almost. - December 20th 2011, 02:44 AM

I haven't been on Teenhelp in forever, but I need somewhere to post and brag about the cute little bundle-of-cute growing in my belly.
I'm 26 weeks pregnant! With a little baby girl- soon to be named Skylar. The only people that really know are my mom, a few close friends and cousins, and of course my wonderful boyfriend.
I need to tell my dad- well, grandpa- but I'm just not sure how. Oh, and everyone else. I've waited so long. I still don't really have a belly, I'm still skinny, and he even commented asking if I was feeling ok because he thought I was losing weight. But don't fear, ya'll, the doctor says my belly is growing just fine, and she is the size she should be, but my uterus is just a little tilted.
Any advice on how any other teen mom's told their families and friends? Or advice in general. Thank you.

First off, congratulations and welcome back to TH! It's great that things are progressing the way they should be, and that you have a great support system behind you.

Secondly, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Skylar. It's beautiful.

Now, onto the advice. Pretty soon, you won't be able to hide the fact that you're pregnant, so you should really tell your dad(grandpa) really soon. Just be honest with him. Have your mom present if it would make you feel more comfortable. I say mom since your boyfriend might feel uncomfortable sitting in on the conversation...that, and we don't want your grandpa to yell at him
Let him know your plans and what you are going to do with your life to make sure the baby has a good one. Honesty is best.

Good luck!

Why, thank you. The daddy and I chose that name before I was even pregnant, just joking around. Haha.
I know my dad will be upset, but I also know he's going to get over it and love my baby, which is reassuring.
Thanks, again!

Telling people sooner is generally better. That way they don't have to adjust to the news when the baby is here!

Congratulations, by the way. And the name is adorable

Just be honest with the people you want to tell. Most people would prefer straight up honesty about this rather than someone beating around the bush to tell them. Good luck!

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

Congratulations! This is such exciting news It is good that you have so many people to help you through this. I think that the sooner you tell the important people the better that way you won't get into trouble for not telling sooner . Hope everything goes well for you good luck! oh and the name Skylar is really cute
