Question Help !!! - January 12th 2012, 08:22 PM

Okay I just wanted to know can a yeast infection be an early sign of pregnancy ? I've asked a lot of people and they have said yes so I just wanted to know what you guys think . I've been having other signs of pregnancy also , I've been nauseous a lot , headaches , always tired , peeing a lot and most importantly I haven't gotten my period . I've never gotten a yeast infection before and now I have it along with all these other things . I just really want to know if a yeast infection can be a sign of pregnancy . Thanks for your help guys

It's hard to say whether or not a yeast infection is an early symptom of pregnancy. From what I've read, many woman mistake a cloudy discharge to be a yeast infection when it's just an increase in regular discharge. Are you experiencing any other symptoms of a yeast infection like burning, soreness or pain during sex or urination? If so, then I'd guess it's safe to say it's a yeast infection, though I'm seeing nothing about how it's related to pregnancy. If not, then it's just an increase in discharge, which happens. Nothing to be worried about. However, if you're experiencing pregnancy symptoms, you should really take a pregnancy test to confirm.

No burning or anything like that , It's just a funny white-ish discharge . I've never had a yeast infection before so that's just what I thought it was .. I'm waiting till the end of the week to see if I get my period , if not I am deffinately taking a pregnancy test

Discharge is definitely normal. Especially around your period, you'll notice an increase. So, this could definitely be a good sign. By Sunday, if you still haven't gotten your period, I would take a test. If it's negative, you might want to visit a doctor to see what the problem could be.
