is winking at a stranger gay? - August 11th 2015, 03:27 AM

I played volleyball against a bunch of shirtless German guys yesterday, each of whom looked like male models. Anyway, one of the times after my team got beat mercilessly (21-1) one of the guys winked at me while shaking my hand. I don't know, maybe its a German thing, but I've never been winked at unless it was during a joke, a play-along situation, or that one time a girl liked me.
I'll take full credit for being the best-looking guy on my team, so I wouldn't think its completely ridiculous to get winked at by a gay stranger or a girl who didn't know any better. I'm bi (At about a 3 out of 10 on a scale where 10 is completely gay) and I might've been down for something if I wasn't at my family reunion. So really, I feel like I could use this as a confidence booster instead of feeling like it was a missed opportunity. So... yes, no, or maybe? Lets try to stay away from "impossible to tell".
We might have gotten our asses handed to us repeatedly, but to me, the big storyline that will never get out there is the fact that I was able to conceal a boner for five games of volleyball. Seriously... these guys looked incredible.

Hey Robert,

Hope things are otherwise treating you quite well!

I think it's certainly possible, but I don't know. Haven't really interacted with enough other gay guys to know if that's a thing. It may make sense to just...ask, if you talk enough and feel like it wouldn't be inappropriate to broach the subject.

Hey there:

I am not very big on German culture, however I think that it could of just been a gesture of game well done, and friendliness. You said that you were at a family reunion. Is there a chance that you will see these guys again? I wouldn't assume from a simple wink that he was down for something, but if you might see them again ease into the situation and see what arises. If you will never see these guys again then I probably wouldn't stress over it as it might make you stressed out trying to come to a conclusion. Hope this helps some!

Take care,
Trish

Nope, never gonna see these guys again. I probably wouldn't be down for it, one of them had a visible cold sore and I don't mess around with that type of thing. That wasn't the guy, but just in case they were gay and messing around... probably not a good assumption to make, but just in case.
I'm keeping this story though, if I ever have to tell it. A hot German guy winked at me in a saucy manner. Awesome...
