Who would be the "Dad"? - February 9th 2010, 12:14 AM

If a gay couple of equally masculine men had a child together, which one would be the "dad"?

Question's been buzzing my head for a couple days now, and was curious.

thanks for input.

If you'll allow me to answer your question with a question: why does one specifically have to be "the dad"?

The atoms that make up you and me were born in the hearts of suns many times greater than ours and in time our atoms will return once again to reside amongst the stars. Life is but an idle dalliance of the cosmos, frail, and soon forgotten. We have been set adrift in an ocean whose tides we are only beginning to comprehend, and with that maturity has come the realization that we are, at least for now, alone. In that loneliness, it falls to us to shine as brightly as the stars from which we came.

Okay, my husband is a transsexual male, but we call him "mommy" for our baby girl. It bugs me because I've been trying to use male pronouns and everything, but when I hear him called mommy or I say it, I always associate that with female pronouns. He doesn't mind being called mommy because he says its just a word and he did give birth to our daughter. For him, it doesn't necessarily mean he's female, but its just weird for me.

So, umm... any advice?

Talk to him and explain to him how you are feeling? If he does not realize how it is effecting you there is not way for any change to be made. Sometimes talking can be hard but in the end it is the only way you are going to get these feelings out and hopefully find some sort of solution.

There could never be amore beautiful you

You were made tofill a purposethat only you could do
So there could never be amore beautiful you
-Johnny Diaz

Everyday
is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, I feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

Whoever's sperm fertilized the egg would technically be the father, in my opinion. But I understand that others feel differently about this.
