Personally I am scared - July 21st 2010, 05:52 AM

I maybe moving in with my girlfriend because my mom has been reaching new lows on being a red mind hypocrite including calling me and my girlfriend the f word that I will not even spell out.

I am scared though everything is on the line: my safety, school, my fin aid, my g/f's privracy, my own privacy, her parents, my parents, police involvement, my student loans.

Please don't give me advice on how I should talk to my parents about this, they will not listen! I done it before and all it caused was a great amount of pain that sent a fucking 19 yr old to her room crying! So please give me something useful

why are these, particularly police and student loans on the line? Are you both of the legal age? I don't see how that will effect your loans or school? Unless you are like in some Christian school that don't let in gays?

As for your safety.... is that in danger because of your mom? If not, where? Also, your privacy would surely increase?

I'm not saying you've got it wrong, I just want clarity?

Well due to the fact my parents lack commen sense thats why police is on the line, my fin aid needs information about my mom and dad's taxes along with several signatures, sorry i don't think student loans had anything to do with it I was typing all my worries.

Privacy is on the line because I think I am invading her privacy because I don't want to follow her around like a lost puppy and there will be times when I want to be alone but probably alot, it's more on her end because I don't want to invade her space.

If your parents contact the police, what would the police do? Is it legal to be gay where you live? At 19, I assume your parents can't claim sexual assault, or kidnapping, etc. I can see how its scary, but that should be fine. But Im not totally informed of your situation. You could also look into if you can get financial aid regardless of your parents' income, like there may be a way if you explain you've moved out and they've stopped supporting you (assuming that would be the case). In the UK we have this, and its called 'estrangement'.

As for privacy, does your gf live alone? I assume you'd just have the one bedroom? Would you have a living room, where you could agree for one of you to be in there and one in the bedroom if you need space. Ensure you both sometimes go out independantly too, so you have some breathing room.

kk on the police but it's just so stupid explaining it to them and than them laughing at the idiotic family that called the police on their daughter. Fin aid is different here it seems, we need our parents for everything which is total B.S. but I need to call them to ask them when my parents are not here or something but my mom is a lazy ass so it does not work out to well.

No we both live with our families, her family is cool with me staying with them for as long as I please as long as I go to college and have a job along with not being a free loader pretty much.

You're old enough to be on your own, you parents are not being rational, and you have someone to help you. Move in with her and get on with your life, and good luck to you both.

[the police would have a good laugh over this]

What just happened?

Well I am going to do something I don't want to but maybe it would be good for us because it's alittle rational but we will talk than if they won't shut up about it than I will leave
