National Day Against Homophobia! -
May 15th 2011, 04:19 AM
If you didnt already know, May 17th is National Day Against Homophobia! at least in canada it is). Even though I am straight, I am so proud of the movement my CATHOLIC school has made against homophobia. Last year there was a "no homo" epidemic in the school. Basically kids were saying "no homo" after every sentence, for example: girl to girl, "you look hot today, but no homo". Anyways now theres a policy in the board saying anyone caught saying this is immediately suspended from school. There are now signs around the school telling kids that being gay is okay, and we have resources for kids struggling.
On may 17th we are allowed to be out of uniform to wear purple, or FCK H8 clothes (check out their website!) in order to take a stand against homophobia. So I guess the point of this thread is to let people who didnt know about this know, and to ask all of you, do you have plans for National Day Against Homophobia? |

I don't know if it's happening in the UK, but I'm going to go into college with "FCKH8" written on my hand or something
I've just seen the website... bye bye money...
Maybe it's not my weekend but it's gonna be my year.
It's perfectly fine to be a happy individual. Take off at the speed of sound... |

Since the day of the event has passed, I'm going to close this thread. Feel free to PM me if you disagree, or you can start a new thread.
Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |
