am I pansexual or bi - September 20th 2011, 01:33 AM

I am confused about my sexuality. I am married to my husband. But I am interested in men, women, and transgender.

Bi is basically being attracted to both Men and Women
Pansexual is being attracted to any and all sexes meaning Men, Women, and Transgenders.
looks like to me you are pansexual if you are also attracted to transgender
but you are whatever your heart tells you

Bisexuality means being attracted to male and females.

Pansexuality is being attracted to any and all genders across the never ending gender spectrum.

It's really up to you to decide what you are attracted to, so don't feel you have to 'fit' into a certain category. But yeah, what you are describing is basically Pansexuality.

Hi Jennifer,

Sexuality is a really hard thing to define. I can give you the commonly accepted definitions of each identify, which typically state that bisexuality is being attracted to both genders and pansexuality is being attracted to people without regard for their genders. (I've often heard it described by people who identify as pan as falling in love with a person for who they are, not what's in their pants.) Pansexuality, by this standard definition, usually acknowledges an attraction to trans people while bisexuality does not.

However, it really, really depends how you look at things. For example, you could be straight and have an attraction for people who are FtM. Because FtMs are male, despite being born female, you might still consider yourself to be straight. You could even be straight with an "exception" for people who are trans (or even for a member of the same sex.) The same is true for bisexuality. There are so many ways you can mix and match labels. The trick is finding the combination that's right for you.

You say that you're married. Are you happy in your marriage? Do you think that there's a chance that you'd want to experiment outside of it? I think you should first ask yourself if it is really that important to know your sexuality, if you're happily married. It might very well be important to you! If you do think you'd like to experiment, definitely talk to your husband first and see how he feels about it.

I hope this helps! Take care!
