Coming out to my mom about being trans... - October 7th 2011, 01:41 AM

So, I need a little advice here. I'm FTM, and have been for over roughly a year now. As of now, I've only come out to one person, my BFF at school, who is the person I trust the most, besides one other person.

My mom.

I'm honestly not sure on how to go about coming out to her. She's a Libertarian, like myself, so I'm sure she would be accepting, but I'm honestly not sure as to how I should tell her... with my friend, it was pretty much a casual pulling to the side type deal, but I'd rather not be so casual with my mother.

I have been dropping some hints with her, such as asking if she ever wish she had had a son, and what she would name him, and etc., as well as how she liked the name Trip (which she does love, hehe).

So, what do you guys think I should do? Should I just sit her down in a quiet place, or what?

Thank you. C:

I think you should take things slow and go at the pace that you need to. My friend had the same problem, but once he was ready he just came out because he couldn't hold it in any longer. Yeah sure a quiet place and sit her down might help. Make her feel comfortable as well as yourself.

Alright then! Thank you so much for the advise, Rachel. I'll try to take it slow. :3
