Unhappy I need some advice - March 25th 2009, 06:05 AM

OK, so I'm a thirteen year old male who is almost 100% sure that he is gay. I know that my parents and friends would be accepting, but I still feel very stressed out about it all. I actually had to leave my previous school because I was being bullied for being "different". Different meaning that I hate all that misogynistic, bigoted, disgusting rap music that is so popular and having longer hair that all of the other guys. I'm now going to a school where people are a bit more accepting of LGBT people, but I'm not sure what will happen if my secret gets out. I need help and advice. Any help would be much appreciated.

If I were you, I'd be loud and proud about it. Don't hide it like you're ashamed of being gay, it's apart of you! Who cares what anyone else thinks?

Sure people might pick on you, but that just shows the inner ass hole some people can be. Don't let anyone make you feel like you should keep it a secret.

Hey Alex.
It always confuses me why people feel the need to be such jerks. The people that were bullying you are exactly that. It's not fair that people get put down for being who they are, and I'm sorry that it has had this effect on you. But you should not feel bad if you believe that you are gay. People will always be jerks, whether your gay, straight, or whatever else. They find something to be complete jerks about, every time. But you shouldn't let it affect who you are as a person. There's nothing wrong with being gay, and don't let anyone make you believe that there is.

Hi there!

Alright, so here's the advice I have for ya.

It's best to wait maybe a couple years, like until you're 17, to really tell too many people about it, because by the time you're 14 you could have a completely different view on things. I'm currently 15, and believing that I am probably bisexual, but the thing is, not even a year ago, I was completely and utterly sure that I was straight and against gay marriage. Now, I ended up having a crush on another guy.

The teenage years are basically a hormonal (sp?) rollarcoaster, and when one day you're gay, the next you're straight. Just saying, it's probably best to wait for just a little bit until you are really really sure you're not going to be changing any time soon.
