Ways to make my chest appear smaller? -
January 7th 2012, 04:47 AM
I don't have particularly large breasts but they're noticeable enough, even when I wear bigger shirts that hide most of my figure. I would like a chest binder but there's no way for me to get one at the time and I've heard it's unhealthy to use bandages, so I'm trying to keep that out of the picture. I can't really think of other ways to make my chest appear smaller, but I have noticed that if I wear a tank top with one of those built in bra things as opposed to wearing a normal bra, it helps. I don't know, it doesn't matter all that much, but I'd like to be able to introduce myself to new people as the person I really am and it's hard to do that if I don't really look like it.
i've lost my goddamn mind, it happens all the time... i can't believe i'm actually meant to be here! trying to consume, the drug in me is you and i'm so high on misery, can't you see? |

One of the simplest ways to bind your chest is wearing a sports bra that is a little too small.
I use ace bandages when I do it myself. However, the most important thing is to be safe and comfortable. I found a article that you might find useful: http://www.ftmguide.org/binding.html |

Not going to lie, I bound with bandages for a few months until I got a binder. Though I've never managed to be all that flat :/ And bandages can be dangerous, though I have to say, a lot of people start with them, its not advised. If you choose to do this, be careful. If you struggle breathing, loosen them up, or take it off. this is not a great idea if you intend to do it frequently for an extended peroid of time.
Never sleep in them (or a binder if you get one. Really never sleep in it, its not nice) You could also try wear a tighter tshirt under a slightly baggier. One thing that I find helpful are outer layers, like open shirts, waistcoats (vests, or whatever you call them in your country), hoodies, jackets, etc. especially open ones, as they hide chest shape from the side, and general shape from the front. I found, for me, clothes that are too baggy really rest on my chest. I dunno, I just feel I look more boyish now than when I was wearing totally oversized clothes. Also, maybe to talk more guys about their experiences. Lots of people come up with little things that have really worked for them before they've been able to further in transition. tumblr actually doesn't seem to be a bad place to start. Like: http://fuckyeahftms.tumblr.com although there are a fair amount of picture, and personal stories, it seems a lot of trans guys get in conteact with it other through it, ask questions, answer them, etc, etc. Pride is a Protest ![]() |
