My Girlfriend Thinks She Is Sinning -
January 8th 2012, 10:10 PM
My girlfriend is having a rough time dating me. She says she feels so guilty about what she is doing. She says she loves me but she is scared because of her religion. I'm afraid she is going to tell her parents who are extreme Mormans and I am afraid her parents are going to tell my parents. How can I get her to not feel this way? I told her God doesn't hate her and I don't hate her; that's what should matter. But. she is feeling really down.
Later I convinced her that we could go see the school counselor together. I'm pretty sure the counselor can't legally tell our parents what is going on. But, I'm afraid that they will be informed about our relationship. I think it is the right thing to go to an adult for this because she needs to talk to someone about this. If you are having a relationship with the same gender, the counselor won't tell your parents if you don't want them too right? I'm a worried about this whole situation. Am I doing the right thing? What should I do differently? |

Yes, you are doing the right thing. A school counsellor will not tell your parents anything you dont want them to, unless you are in physical danger, which you are not so they will keep everything you say confidential.
So I suggest you two go see the counsellor together and talk about her religious issues. Good luck. Don not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail- Ralf Waldo Emerson ...but if you look at me closely you will see it in my eyes, this girl will always find her way...<3 The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams- Eleanor Roosevelt since 26/3/2012 |
