FTM Transition? -
January 24th 2012, 09:59 PM
Hey.
The name is George. well, not legally... Anyways, I'm considering in my future, going from Female to Male (like taking T and having the surgeries), and I wanted to hear about it from others, Like what you know, what you've heard, and if your FTM too? -Peoples reactions and other things if you've transitioned? I don't know anyone else like me, other than a gender fluid friend I barely see. I'm not sure what I'll do, being pangender my life basically has two different variations on which way I'll decide to live it. I could be a girl, and live as one, or I could transition, and most of the time that's what I want. I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and see a guy, but at the same time, I don't. I want to look in the mirror and see a cisgendered girl, if not for the fact that this just makes life complicated... Sorry, about that... Yea... In a world filled with diversity, I am just another oddity.

Hello sorry you have to deal with a situation like that. I'm not FTM, but my friend is. He wants more than anything to transition. He wants to be who he is on the inside, I'm supporting him through everything he goes through. First you need to decide if you really want to transition. If you like being both in a certain way then why bother? Just think this through a little more and make sure it is something that you want. You don't want to regret it later on in the future. If you have anymore questions, you can ask me. i'll find some information from my friend if you need it.

Hey.
![]() I'm not FTM, but I felt the need to reply to this anyways. Don't worry too much about what other people will think of your decision. If you feel like a male on the inside and you want to look like a male on the outside, there's no reason that you shouldn't go for it. Do what makes YOU happy, not what makes everyone else happy. |

Thanks... It's just, I can't get through it myself. It's like how if your having problems, you'd go to someone who knows about what's happening. And I think I'll figure out soon enough anyways.

Yeah my friend has to wait until he is 18 too. Yes, no problem. I can ask him. I'll try to give you more information tomorrow.

^^ thanks. You don't really have to, I don't think, but it's easier if you don't want to have to talk your parents into signing you up for a counciler (^^ I've read "I Am J" and I've read some blogs, so that's what it seems...)

Hi, George!
I'm FtM too, and I've read (practically memorized...) edition 6 of the WPATH SoC. I read that you can start hormones as early as 16 but you have to go through a three-month real-life experience OR three months of special psychotherapy to be able to qualify for hormones. :/ soo.... yeah. What sucks is my parents don't accept me >_> I think they MIGHT be starting to. Might. Meh. Sorry if I'm not much help.

^^ It's alright. I didn't know there was a choice between living like a guy and the therapy, I thought it was just the therapy... but then again most of my information comes from a book (that is pretty realistic... except for the ACE bandages.) and the hudson guide (I avoid reading about transitioning because right now I'm trying to just get over the emotional speed bump of what can happen with my family) And I highly doubt I'll be able to transition even with family help until I'm 18 (due to were I live and the lack of LGBT, apperantly it's not 'the way' of people here.)
^^ Thanks. -I hope your parents accept you, I haven't even considered telling them (when I know for sure, probably) In a world filled with diversity, I am just another oddity.
