My girlfriend before she dated me she dated this guy named Neil. He's a nice guy but he's not really there for her and he drinks and smokes all the time. She says she loves me alot but still misses him. Advice please because I love her so much and really don't want to let her go but I also want her to happy.
![]() Edit: Also he's 5 years older than her. :\ So, I think he's too old really for her. |

breakups take time to get over. Really, its up to her to get over him. You can try and help her, but that can be seen more as jealously or controlling to some people maybe even her. It's kinda of fragile for a person to be in this situation on both sides. Because both feelings and the situation can be fragile. You can try talking to her about it, and telling her that you really think she needs to get over him for the sake of her and relationship, or you can just let it be. I wouldn't push it though unless it got really out of hand and she was doing things with him that thought we're inapporite, like spending a lot of time with him, etc. How long ago was the break-up?
" One day at a time, this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering. "
i wonder when i'll finally jsut start accepting myself, when i'll stop saying i wish i could be like that person. i have facebook, and myspace. and you can ask for it. :P |

then i would give it some time. like a few months. hopefully your relationship with her will help drown out those feeling that she still lingers with him.
