Question He finally asked me out, but I'm a little nervous. Help? - April 6th 2010, 04:26 AM

***You may choose to read either the short or long version. I don't mind! As long as you give an answer )

Short Version
The guy I have liked for a while finally asked me out. We're going on a bike ride this Saturday (we are in love with biking). The problem is that we haven't spoken face to face besides a random hello when around friends. How can I make this less awkward or talk to him before then?

*He's a grade younger, but very mature, but that means he isn't in any of my classes and I have rehearsals after school everyday.

Long Version
The guy I've been interested in all year finally asked me out. I didn't really know him at first, just kind of someone I admired from afar. We have similar friends and he is very mature for his age (he's a freshman, I'm a sophomore).

Anyway, he started talking to me over spring break when apparently someone told him that I might be interested in him. We talked on facebook, he asked for my number and we've been talking ever since.

We both really love to bike - there is a trail that passes through town - so he mentioned that we should go for a bike ride together; so this Saturday that is what we will be doing .

The only issue is, I haven't talked to him in person very much. We have friends in common, so I've said hello and been in the same room a few times, but we've never had a real conversation face to face. I don't usually see him at school so we can't talk then (different lunch hours as well). Occasionally I'll see him in passing, but that's all. I have multiple music rehearsals every day after school :P.

So what can I do to make things easier on Saturday? I am always myself around people, so that shouldn't be an issue, but I do get nervous around the guys that I like - as most do. What tips do you guys have?

The only advice I could give is to try not to worry, he's obviously interested or he wouldn't ask you out just try to enjoy yourself and see how well you fit together

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment...
