Teachers/Feelings - March 5th 2011, 11:57 PM

I think I have a VERY small crush on my teacher. We are 18 years apart... Not good. I feel really stupid for even talking about this. I feel weird too, because most people don't ever have feelings for their teachers, obviously. I was just curious if any of you guys ever had slight feelings for your teachers? and how you stopped yourself.
-Don't judge-

Second chances; They don't matter.

Hey Amy,

I applaud you for not being ashamed to talk about this issue - its very important to connect with others as you find yourself in odd situations. In this situation particularly, I know you already know this, but I feel the need to mention it regardless - I highly, highly encourage you not to act on any of your feelings for your teacher. This is kind of one of those crushes you'd probably move on from just as you would any other inaccessible crush, you know? Kind of set the person as "out of bounds" in your mind, and go from there. If nothing else, we are almost to the end of the school year, so hopefully you won't have to be around the person for too much longer.

I did think one of my teachers was attractive a few years ago. However, I have my teachers strictly as "teachers only" in my mind. I don't even consider them to be in my pool of "fish in the sea" if you know what I mean with that one. (:

I think at some point, we've all had some sort of crush on their teachers.
There is, technically, nothing to be ashamed of in having a crush. But, you have to remember, they are your teacher.

I had a crush on my Junior year physics teacher. But, we're all pretty sure he slept around with some of the female students, and smoked pot, as he basically looked stoned the entire time during class. This, of course, ended my crush on him.

Just remember, there is nothing wrong with it. But, don't cross the line into a teacher/student relationship. Bad things can happen to your teacher, and nobody wants that.

Most people are too ashamed to come out for it. I, too, had a crush on a teacher once, but knowing she'd be 20 years older and that she was most likely taken already, really helped me put myself over it and move on.

There's nothing wrong with you, really. It happens, we get the butterflies when we see someone cute, no matter who it is. Don't be ashamed and try to move on, since chances of you getting together with your teacher are 0.0001%. If it's even legal.

Move on. You'll find someone cute at some point. I had been single for 18 years until I met my current fiancée one month before I turned 19. It takes time! Don't rush it...

Yeah, just try and move on. It's perfectly natural to be attracted to someone whom you feel is attractive, but you also have the responsibility of making sure that nothing comes from that.

I thought about you for the rest of the day.
Catching my head turning to find you again.
I hated myself for it.
