Boyfriend just arrested out of the blue

I am shocked and hurt... My boyfriend is really nice to me. Helps me with homework, takes me out for dinner, got me cool Christmas presents, is nice to me...... We have had a few bumps though. He relapsed three times all in the same time frame then was fine. Yeah, now he is in prison for indecent exposure. ...... uh... what? Indecent exposure...... and he is charged with it twice... What?


Yeah. I looked it up and it looks like bail is $75000, and that is if you are charged once, don't know about being charged twice. And there is 6 months in jail.


WHOA. That, was a kick to the face. His trial is tomorrow. I'm pissed, I had no idea. He lied to me. I'm done with him, still going to his trial though.. I'm scared and confused... any uh... words of wisdom?

I have two words of wisdom: Move on. He may be good to you - but if he would risk putting you through something like this and sending himself to jail for about 6 months - and not to mention that fact that he lied to you - then I think you should just move on. Why waste another 6 months of your life waiting for your boyfriend to come back of jail and maybe do it all over again? No point and its senseless. I know some may disagree with me - but I think its time to move on and find someone who will care enough about the relationship to not risk it over something like keeping your clothes on in public. But then again, this is just my opinion.

I agree with Chris. But make sure you know exactly what happened because "indecent exposure" could have many connotations and contexts. I definitely don't think it would be good for a relationship to be separated by jail, but you have to think about what's going to happen if he does get sentenced to hard time. Will you support him at all? Sometimes people can come out of jail completely changed. They usually do, either for the better or worse.

There was a case a while back where a a man was walking around in his house naked. A woman and her child were on his front lawn, and when they saw him, she called the police. He eventually got released, but she damn near destroyed his life when it was completely her fault in the first place.

Do you know any of the details? Because if this came out of the blue and randomly as you say, then it's probably bullshit.

Yeah, you may not know the situation yet. But two counts might be pushing it for an "accident" or something like that.

I highly doubt two cases of indecent exposure could be considered an "accident" at this point. You're right; innocent until proven guilty, but two charges for this hardly seems like he's "innocent" in any way.

Move on girl; he may be nice to you but that doesn't make up for what he's done. Two counts of indecent exposure, lying to you and putting you at risk, getting himself sent to jail for 6 months? Not likely that his head is in the right place at the moment.
