Just wondering... - February 9th 2012, 01:17 AM

Hey. Haven't posted on here in a while... so, ummm, yeah.

I've hit the point in my dating life that most people hit when they're 30. I've found myself just not meeting new people, and not really finding any dating opportunities and have thus, in a stroke of sheer idiocy, decided to join a dating site.

Except there's a slight problem with that...

See, remember how I said most people hit this stage when they're 30? I'm 16. Most of the dating sites you can register for require you to be 18 or older, and it's at least implied that you have money and can drive (I have money for a 16 year old... no car or driving skills though. I freak out, ok? Don't judge)

So, I have to ask, because I've hit about as far rock bottom as I'm willing.

Is there any sort of dating site for teenagers that's any good? I've looked a few that are supposed to be that sort of thing, but they all made me throw up with sheer implausibility.

I know it's a long shot, but I gotta ask.

Thanks.

Cool Story, bro.

I've never heard of any dating sites for anyone under the age of 18, and even if I had, I don't think it would be safe to join since you're only 16. I know you feel like you're not meeting any new people, but why not branch out? Maybe join some activities in your school, a sport, ask your friends if they know anyone that would want to hang out, etc. You're young, so finding that right girl doesn't need to be a priority right now. It's fun to date, sure, just don't put so much pressure on yourself. Enjoy your teenage years & have fun (:

Yeah... about that...

I'll get back to you as soon as I have those sort of friends and don't hate pretty much anything related to school.

Truth is, I just don't do that kinds of things that let you meet people. And truth is, I've tried those kinds of things and hated them. I've tried being in an Orchestra group, theater, etc, etc, and it's just that doing those things a few times is awesome, but then it goes practice after practice, one day out of the week/month that you constantly have to set aside, something that you're finding you have no real interest in after 4-5 months. I mean, my idea of fun is sitting at home, browsing the internet, I'm lame so mostly I keep to myself, and I'm not like, movie star attractive (who is?) so no one just comes up to me, so, yeah... I guess I just don't feel like I've got a lot of options at this point, and I really don't want to be THAT guy going into college. I don't care if I'm still a virgin going into college, that I can totally handle, but what I can't handle is going into college and meeting someone, and then having to admit that my last relationship was in 8th grade and only lasted three days. It's like, it was fine if you didn't know anything about dating whatsoever back in 7th grade, and it's moderately ok now, but when I hit college and admit that I never had any sort of high school girlfriend. I don't know. Plus, I've been hearing from people of all sorts how great this who dating thing (and by thing, I don't really mean like, site, I mean like, dating in general, not online dating) is for the past few years now and I just wanna try it out.

Of course dating is fun, but I just don't want you feeling like you have to date someone in order to feel happy. I know what you mean with the whole school activities thing because I only did Chorus haha didn't like taking time out of my schedule. I'm also on the computer most of the time & keep to myself, so I can definitely relate to you on that level.

I wish I could tell you an easy way to meet people but I can't. I've always met people through friends of friends and so on. If I can do anything else to help you out, feel free to PM me.

Thanks, it means a lot... I don't really know why I made this thread... like I said... I sunk to really, really, really desperate levels, and I do this from time to time. Most of my friends either don't go to my school (in the case of one of my closest friends, he's actually homeschooled) or just as socially awkward and non-participating as I am... or live in another state, so that's a no go. I'm sure things 'll work out one day or another.

Things will definitely work out for you, don't even worry about that. You always have me to talk to if you ever need it, and I'd be excited to get to know you better (:
