I have a dress that I got last year that I absolutely ADORE.. will post pics soon.
Another thing that comes to mind is this dress that I bought for £1.50 in a charity shop. It was a really long old woman's dress that was massively frumpy but I knew it could be made to look good. I took the length up and re-sewed the hem, slightly altered the shoulders and now it's a really nice LBD. Simple but sophisticated for a complete bargain!
